Back up LT

Doug Free was a 4th rounder.

Unless someone form the Cowboy hierarchy comes out and says Tyron ain't playing next season, I'd consider spending one of the 3 4th rounders this team is going to have on an OT.

To spend a 1st or 2nd rounder on a OT to just let him (probably) sit on the bench in a "just for emergency" situation is not the best use of available resources, especially when a DT, a LB and a WR are needed more.

Not really when that player *could* start at LG for a few season. Or we could move Collins to LG and this rookie could start at RT and move to left in case of injury

Yeah, it depends upon what they do with LG.

But I still doubt they drop a high draft pick on the Oline.

Agreed the team should go best player available (including QB) or trade up or down. This team can use talent everywhere. Hell even if it was a center, you could trade Frederick for a boatload of picks and save a ton of cap.

Smart teams get a player with their pick instead of reaching for a position of need and whiffing on the pick.

If they can get the next Tyron Smith with that pick, why would you avoid drafting an OL?

Yeah, I was just talking about that with RB Sherman Williams, the RB who was drafted in the second round that year to be a back up.

It wasn't a long conversation though, he was my Uber driver and I was only going a couple of miles.
Now that would be one great story if true,,, just not sure how much I trust you at this point... lol

Yes, I posted a couple of times that they could draft an OT early and use him or La'el at Guard. That gives them a quality backup OT without "wasting" an early pick on a backup.

LCollins only let up 5 sacks all year.......considering the Murderer's Row he went up against that is awesome...... why move that back to OG?

Ideally the rookie would play LG but if the rookie is much better at RT then moving La'el is the 2nd option.
