Shaun smith was signed as a rookie free agent in 2003 by the Dallas Cowboys where he spent the year on the practice squad. Came back to camp in 2004 and was cut in preseason.

I don't follow the draft like you guys do, so, is there any prospects that we might get and that I could go read about?

We stayed pretty healthy last season, but...?

I also like Doughty, and wouldn't be disappointed with either. Tank is very strong and had a great year after NCSU put 2 DE's in the 1st round last year.
That means he has step-it-up qualities. And can lead by example.
Did you see him knock out like 45 reps on the benchpress at the combine? Wow!!!

Alan Branch and Amobi Okoye will definitely be gone before our pick, so DeMarcus "Tank" Tyler would be my 1st choice as Ferguson's replacement. Has good enough size at 6-2 1/4 306, but can easily add another 5-10 pounds to his frame. He obviously has enough strength (42 reps) to take on double teams and be effective against the run. Would have to spend our 2nd rounder on him though, because he won't be there for our 3rd IMO.

If Tyler does get drafted before our second pick, we should probably wait and draft someone like Joe Cohen, Jeremy Clark, Clifton Ryan or Louis Leonard in the later rounds.
