None of them are starters to me.

But if you ask me i like Bass the most.

Imo next year we have 3 good Backups in them. We will need in that priority: a LT starter, RT starter and RG starter. Id give Beebe one more season then see if he really has it. Right now he doesnt look like the solution at center.

The 2024 draft looks just the same like the years before: very bad.

Steele likely gets cut in March.

they need the cap.

POST-6/1 RELEASE

2025 Dead Cap: $4,125,000
2026 Dead Cap: $9,375,000
2025 Savings: $14,000,000
And now you have no RT starter.

This idea looks like the idea people had who said last year we will be able to replace all 6 starters we lost thru FA by drafting new starters. When i showed that since 2016 this franchise wasnt able to draft more than 2(!) First day starters i Was laughed at and called a hater (well what do expect from asocial media guys).

The past shows that if the FO is able to find one first-day-starter in the draft it was a good one for our draft competence level. Sou already penciled RB in.

Now people want to cut steele or dflaw or some other guys. Remeber you will have to pay pur bum at qb 90+ mils next year. You will need all cap space you can get to pay him.

Next year will looks just like this one. Keep as much as you can of the players under contract. And those are not a lot. No FA signings. Cpunt on the draft (well, you know what that means)

Then find some over the Hill bum coach who wants to handle the rubbish JJ will call a contender.

The same we all have the joy to watch in 2026. Then maybe 2027 has a chance to be better.

This is pretty accurate unfortunately. Cutting Steele really only makes sense if you plan on moving Tyler Smith back to T and really like the Bass/Beebe/Hoffman for the middle. Otherwise the money saved on cutting Steele you lose that and then some to go get even a fringe starter in free agency. I imagine Steele sticks around for 2025 for that reason.

Plus If a team lands 2 starters from a draft its typically a successful class. Jerrys ability to still sell fans on his draft classes to the extent he does blows my mind, but i guess its really the only optimism fans have these days.

This team is just freaking nails when it comes to finding and developing OLmen. Early round studs, mid round starters (CWill, McGivern, and Biadasz), UDFAs that can play, they just don't miss often.

I think Richards is the most promising of the bunch, but Bass is no chopped liver either.
Actually this is pretty rare for us. Now we do not know if they can be quality starters but the case of Steele as a UDFA that got a fat contract is VERY RARE for the Cowboys and frankly any team. IF even one of these three become good starters that is a lottery win. Remember, back in the early 2010's Jethro tried to rebuild the Great Wall with low picks and UDFA's with the most infamous case being Phil Costa whom Jethro claimed was a quality NFL starter and we all know how THAT turned out. Which was why we started using first rd picks for the O line. Free was the only lower pick as a fourth that really became a quality starter. Every one else was either a FA or a high draft pick.

IF by some miracle all three of these became quality starters it would be pretty much unprecedented.

At T that's right. He was marginal on lateral agility pre injury. Post injury he just can't move well enough. But at G that shouldn't be an issue.
I do not think he can anchor well enough to be a quality guard

That would certainly be one of the key questions. Again, I'm just asking in an effort to make the most out of what we have both physically & financially so we can allocate resources elsewhere.

Absolutely. I think these young guys are pretty good, but I find it hard to count on them as much more than backups. Anyone who really thinks 2 of 3 out of the Hoffman/Bass/Richards trio can be starters now or next year needs to never speak of firing Mike Solari again as what he would be doing developing, round 3, day 3 and UDFA picks into legitimate players is so rare.
