Backup QB?

I myself think Rush will do fine. You have to remember when you see him in preseason games what kind of talent is surrounding him. Plus,....he is fully cooked now. Has more experience on an NFL team.

Dak doesn't get hurt so no need for a backup QB. In fact, Dallas should just carry 1 QB.......Dak....... and save a roster spot.

......except for the Eagles game we were told that the reason he couldn't generate a single TD was because his shoulder was just being held together by a single tendon

It’s pretty clear that the team is “all in” this year and are going to make a hard run at the SB based on all their offseason moves.

Any ideas on what to do at backup QB though? I know Dak has been pretty healthy but if he goes down, who’s taking us to win the title? I really doubt Rush and Denucci (sp) are the answers. I’d rather have a veteran presence back there but I don’t see any FAs either (Newton wants to start.) I sure hope McClay and company have a plan..

The veteran QB's still out there are QB;s who once were starters but lost their jobs for various reasons and yet yet there are some here that suggest that the Cowboys sign one of them so if something happens to Prescott they could come in and prove why they were not starters anymore.

Maybe just maybe the current coaching staff has reviewed the film of Rush in preseason games and practices and decided that they will still go with him. Personally I haven't seen enough of him to make an educated guess on that, but I still regard what professional coaches think over what fans think.

Funny, not ha ha funny, I remember the Cowboys saying he was playing with a bruised shoulder and then I remember fans SPECULATING all sorts of things. I've never heard from any actual Cowboys source that said Prescott shoulder injury was because "his shoulder was just being held together by a single tendon" either before or after the game. He must have done just the greatest recovery of such a serious injury you say he had because in just ONE week later throw for 303 yards and 4 TD's.

It was merely a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum that hampered Dakota in that Playoff deciding game against the Eagles. The following week it was completely healed enough for him to put up those numbers against the mighty Commanders defense.........hes a gamer against stiff competition

Thats why hes the 40 million dollar man

Please, with using your medical degree, tell me all the players who have torn rotator cuffs and labrums that were completely healed in just SEVEN DAYS. There are players who were starters that weren't starting QB with those injuries in their throwing arm that have gone on IR for that but you say he miraculously was completely healed in seven days. Maybe it was what the Cowboys said that he just had a bruised shoulder which is much more likely that he would be ready to go seven day later.

How many wins did Aikman get when Emmitt & the running game didn't show up?

vs Philly (loss)
Dak 25/44, 265 yds, 0 td.
Zeke 13-47 yds, 0 td.
Pollard 2-0 yds.
Team: 16-54 yds.

vs Commanders (win)
Dak 23/33, 303 yds, 4 td's.
Zeke 18-122 yds, 1 td.
Pollard 14-60 yds.
Team: 36-223 yds.

Since we're on a trip down memory lane, How many wins were Brady and Marino able to get with NO running game whatsoever?

They will rue the day they give Rayne Dakota 40 Million a year

Aikman = Elite coaches, elite OL, elite RB/FB, elite WR, very good deep threat WR (Harper), very good TE. And excellent top ranked defenses during SB run.

Again, HOW DID Aikman do when #88 sat or when #22 sat?

Did he missed the game? And no the entire team quit on Garrett. Just compare both eagles game and you will see the difference.

Yes and no. Some QBs just never develop further and can't diagnose defenses fast enough. No matter how much experience they have in TC/PS. Obviously part of the reason that QB's that can be considered good enough are getting 30+mil a year, like Tannehill.

Rush looked good in 17, meh in 18 and ok in 19 to me.
So, you may be right, but it's a risk the FO has to weigh while going for another "SB run".

If they were all in they would have kept Byron, among others. The cost of the players we let go dwarfs the cost of the ones we brought on.

Our big spend was Cooper, but that was baked into the cake the moment we traded a 1st for him.

I see us spending about as we had last year. No big splashes in free agency. We're still building through the draft. And wow, that worked out this year.

Building a roster isn’t just about spending
The idea of going all in after a season you missed the playoffs is not really realistic
Obviously if you didn’t even make the play off then loading up for a couple seasons before you have to start dumping salaries is not the best plan
Going all in is for a team that almost got there and adding a few key guys can get you over the hump

He should have stayed out which would have been best for the team, but there was a contract to be had at any cost.

I guess 1 TD was too much to ask for in a playoff deciding game.

That game wasn't for the playoffs or for the division. Not only that but you are forgetting that the entire team quit on Garrett. I get it though, you Dak hater clowns love to talk about what he couldn't do on certain games this season because the team quitting on Garrett gives you ammo for you're agenda. Dak has beaten very good teams and in very tough places, so this act that he couldn't score is silly. Even last season y'all won't even talk about the first eagles game........ remind everybody the score in that one.

First off, no reason for name calling and insults, so no reason for you have to come at me like this

Secondly, it was for the division unless we were to believe that the Eagle were gonna lose to the Giants the following week,They didn't.

A win against the Eagles would have clinched the NFC East......lets not rewrite history

The Cowboys held the tie breaker in their hands and the 40 Million dollar man couldn't generate a single TD.

Cooper Rush >>> Super Bowl Champion QB

That’s what this come down to for fans who want Rush.

It’s a silly comparison and shouldn’t even be a debate but if McCarthy and the front office are comfortable with Rush, then I guess it’s a moot point.

Would have clinched for Dallas but that game didn't decide the division. Week 17 did, you're the one rewriting history trying to say week 16 was a playoff game...... that's false.

Also what do you not understand by the team quit on Garrett. Compare the first philly game to week 16 game, look at the Rams game then watch the Jets game. The entire team wasn't trying, they quit on Garrett. So, if you keep saying stupid stuff about Dak I will continue to say silly Dak Garrett clowns cause that's what you fools are. Don't like it, then don't reply. I stop commenting on people post that I know what changed their mind on Dak but when they reply to what I say I'm going to respond.

Other than your thoughts on Dak I enjoy reading what you have to say on most things.
