I think Dalton was the best we had, but he played himself out of the backup job.

10 million $$$ is a lot to turn down.

I know there was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago but I’m curious who Mike wants for backup? We are now into FA week two and not many guys are available.

Normally it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but with Dak’s injury and possibly not even being able to throw in the Spring, we need someone with experience.

I'm not gonna moan if the #2 is Gilbert, although I do think he is overrated quite a bit.

Pittsburgh didn't show up that day.

If Dak goes down for the year again, it doesn't matter who the backup is.

However if he is gone for say, 3-4 games, it could be the difference of winning the division or not.

I don’t want a situation where the drop off is minimal with a team like this. We need to be awful if we aren’t a legit playoff team.

LOL.... I would not be. Not even close but if you want to lose every game, then he's your guy IMO. And keep in mind, I'm a died in the wool Burnt Orange guy.

I'm not a believer in Gilbert in the NFL.

Seriously though, I don't think our backup is out there yet. I feel like with a bunch of teams looking at QBs in the draft, there will be some Vets who are released. I think our backup might be in that group of players.

I wonder what the Bears are going to do with Nick Foles? I mean, they just went out and paid Dalton and they are gonna draft a QB if they can so it will be interesting to see what happens there. If that guy is available, that's who I'm going to go out and sign.
