Why don't we all just give Johnson another game and a couple of more passes before hitting the panic button.

Anyone who expected him to have a great arm hasn't watched much football in the last 10 years. Johnson's arm hasn't been strong since the mid 90's, and even then it wasn't a cannon. Let's just relax rather than jumping to judgment after a few downs in his first preseason game with Dallas.

True..........but the ball usually goes to the other team.

Here are our choices:

A. QB that can throw more than 5 yards, but is accurate somewhat.

B. QB that has a cannon for an arm, but accuracy aint worth a damn.

Brad Johnson > Jeff George.

(really doesnt matter, if Romo goes down the season is over)

Are you describing Jeff George or Drew Bledsoe.

didn't you hear, our back up QB, has to be a young guy, who can heave the ball 50+ yards down he field.

He doesn't always have to hit the same color jersey, or even a jesery at all. We just have to have confirmation that he can throw it really far, really hard. That is all that matters.

And Jeff George does not meet that criteria. He happens to be a year older than Brad Johnson.

he looks young ;)

If Romo is injured and out for the season, then Dallas probably is not going to find some other QB to lead the Cowboys to the playoffs. With the season shot I would want some sort of excitement, so maybe Jeff George would be the right choice. He attacked a coach before. Imagine him and TO together on a team not bound for the playoffs. That is just a train wreck waiting to happen. :lmao2:

Nice analogy. My brain doesn't work well enough to come up with stuff like that.

I can't speak for everybody, by my sphynx is almost hairless, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Care to elaborate.... some act as if we got a total imcompetent as a backup??

I have stated reasons before and seems to do no good. As a backup you want the guy with experiance who is not going to need a lot of reps, who has a very good understanding of defensive schemes and different blitzes that teams will throw at the QB and the young ones tend to have trouble with. Brad Johnson has been a very consistent QB in this league and what he may lack in arm he makes up for with intelligence. He is not going to do things to hurt a team and he will make plays.

Well, I will pick Brad Johnson because he can't throw the ball more than 30 yards, so he can't really hurt us by being a gunslinger. Jeff George is going to want to come in and throw 3 td's and 300 yards. Johnson does not have and has never had a big arm, so he will be good if Romo gets injured by being a caretaker. Let the defense and running game win close games. If the defense ends up stinking this year, then we are totally screwed if Romo goes down.

I think I can throw the ball 40 yards, I should try out...

Yes, all that time reading the WR readbook on the sidelines will get him ready to play QB in the NFL.

Great call Zrinkill:laugh2:
