BAD Defense with 8 seconds to go!

Here's the biggest problem. There was absolutely no one he was covering in the middle of the field. However, you could see the receiver on the left sideline since the beginning of the play. It was like he faked going deep either. He was running very slow and turned around early.

Bradie James sucks, folks. SUCKS.

I'm talking about the system, and my post reflected that. I have seen plenty of times where we have had only 3 guys rushing. I wouldn't say hardly ever. I've seen Ware fake the rush and pull back into coverage to much. I would like to see him rush the QB more than he is and the 4-3 would allow him to rush more.

I'm in the process of reviewing every game this season watching solely the defense. I've reviewed about 5 games so far and we haven't rushed only 3 defenders in any of those games when we weren't in a prevent defense.

My guess is that this formation was intended to prevent a 'big' play,

This is the first year that we have fully used the 3-4 and we are constantly getting burnt due to lack of pressure. We are all wanting 3 guys to get pressure against a QB who has 5-6 guys protecting him....yet we all wonder why we aren't getting any pressure.

I'm not saying that we should go back to the 4-3 entirely, but I would like to see a better mix of it than we are currently seeing. 3 years ago....#1 defense with the 4-3....implementing the 3-4 had us higher ranked at the beginning of the season, but as the season wears on, the 3 guys are seemingly getting worn out....having to take on 5 guys, I can see why.

i thouhgt the 3-4 was used mostly to deguise the 4th rusher not to only rush three, yes we do only rush three some times but the 3-4 is used as a scheme'ers type D if that makes sense, right???, excuse the spelling i've had a little to drink tonight

NEWS FLASH: Zimmer didn't fare much better running the 4-3. He's obviously out of his league even attempting to understand the 3-4 but he was nothing special when he ran the 4-3. unimaginative and sickening... That's Zimmer in a nutshell.

It was an idiotic move by Bill or Zimmer. (whichever idiot called it). Andy Reid simply outsmarted the idiot on the other side of the field and kicked a FG going in.

Ohhh Let's rush TO to defend the deep hail Mary. Reid probably laughed at that as he called the dump off for 10.

Thsi is true. However, in that situation, with 8 seconds to go, you don't give up one to protect the other. You're still giving up points the way they played it. You play a true defense with the secondary only playing deeper than normal and make them beat you over the top if they so dare. You leave your linebackers up to prevent the dump off and you surely don't leave the sideline routes open! You protect those lines like your life depends on it!

Look at the way we lined up. Hello Sideline! Hello clock stoppage! If it were a game of chess Andy Reid would have said "checkmate".

It didn't matter what they did. Whether they kicked a FG or scored a TD going in, they already had us beat with 10 points on the board.

I could see playing cover-3 in that situation, but this formation is extreme.
