BAH Aaron Rogers... His comments on Romo

Rodgers played in a celebrity golf tournament in Wisconsin on Wednesday and they had him on the radio. The hosts asked him about some random quarterbacks and they got to Romo. Rodgers replied,

Good response... But.. Hopefully that changes this year...

Rodgers looked awfully good for his first full year last season.
Ha...at least in fantasy land, I think he may be ahead of Tony right now.

It's be nice to see Tony get his 1st playoff win vs GB this year....sweet.:D

Outside of Brett Favre and Bart Starr, I wonder which quarterback is more popular in Wisconsin: Aaron Rodgers or Tony Romo?

Rodgers already has the unfortunate distinction of being Favre's successor. It would really suck (for him, that is) if a popularity contest was held in Wisconsin and he found out that Romo was held in higher esteem than him.

Good question.
Next question. Would the Cowboys trade Romo for Rodgers? To some it may seem like "no way" but many in the league would say Rodgers is as good with more upside.

"Many" is questionable in my opinion. I can see where some would evaluate both quarterbacks equally and give Rodgers the nod IF he had a solid offensive line; but who would subsequently regulate him to number two after considering Romo's abilities to create on the move under pressure (i.e. pass rush). Just my two cents.

Rodgers is only 3 years younger than Romo

lol

Sure.

And then when he is in Dallas, he would become the qb the 5-11 packers didnt even want and he stinks, meanwhile romo in green bay would be praised as a steal and a guy who can take the franchise to the superbowl.

The argument could be made that rodgers has much more talent at wr and they throw it all the time also up there.

Its kind of comical rodgers says something like this after leading a 13-3 team to 5-11.

He has a great pair of receivers and a pretty QB friendly offense.

Bring him down to Dallas and he'll be just like the rest of the non-mobile QBs that have played behind our offensive line. Concussed and unemployed shortly thereafter. Romo has made our offensive line look lightyears better than they really are.

LOL I didn't say I would prefer him over Romo. Not you, but some of these guys seems to think I said that. What I did say is that many (maybe I should have said some) in the league would consider Rodgers over Romo. The reaction by some is that I was nuts to say that. Fair enough, but again, it;s not that I'm saying i would do that.

Anyway, Rodgers has started one season...here are the comps for 2008...I'll bold out who was better in each stat if you were an unbiased observer:

....................Romo......Rodgers
Age ................29 ........25.5

Yards passing .3448..... 4038
Passing TDs .....26 ........28
Ints ...............14 ........13
QB rating .......91.4...... 93.8
Comp % .........61% ......63.6%
Yard rushing ....41 ........207
TDs rushing ......0 .........4
Fumbles lost .....7 .........2

Many of those total figures (TDs, ints, fumbles, yards) would be higher for Tony if he had played 16 games. But in 2008, it looks like Rodgers produced more in ALL areas of the game. The point is, the idea is not so far fetched unless you are a Cowboys fan...which I am.

Next question.

I hear you...especially the 5-11 part.

But most would say Dallas was a pass happy team last season.

Also, some would say it's not THAT huge a difference between Owens, Witten, Bennett, RE Williams, Crayton vs Jennings, D. Lee, Driver, Jones, Nelson

The way things are going, Rodgers may win a playoff game before Romo does.

How is that? Green Bay went 6-10 last year and lost to the Cowboys for the second straight season. How are they suddenly going to get better than Dallas.

I heard all of 2007 and then all of last off season that the Packers had the better defense and that Kampman and KGB were one of the best pass rushing duos in the NFL while Harris and Woodson were the top corner tandems in the league. Well, the Packers defense sucked last year and they ended up cutting KGB during the season and Harris and Woodson are a year older, not a year better.

yeah and here is another stat where he was superior to Romo...

2007 Cowboys and Packers were both 13-3.

2008 Cowboys were 9-7

2008 Packers were 5-11

So he's far superior than Romo in turning a talented, playoff franchise, into a bottom feeder.

Although, like with every thing else, Rodgers can not be entirely blamed for that, however since we're doing this based on how Romo would be judged then Rodgers gets all the blame.

Since we all know that it's all Romo's fault, and his alone, that this team doesn't win in December and hasn't won a playoff game in 13 years.

It's like playing shortstop for the Yankees.....everyone wants to know, or comment something about you.

I love it!

Aaron Rodgers..what a joke. Last time I checked Romo carved up the Green Bay Packer swiss cheese defense up!! Rodgers?? get sacked 2 times by Anthony Henry..LOL!
