Let's be clear here guys like Kendricks who was very good last year, if we get maybe three of those guys instead of 1 ,before the draft make a couple extra moves then going into the draft it will help having more money for picking up guys after the draft when they have holes to fill with a little bit better talent.

Thats all predicated on them adding at least 3 new starters in FA. I will believe it when I see it.

Sitting at 12th overall, the Cowboys have been rumored to like Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan, Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka, and Missouri WR Luther Burden III. One guy we may need to get on our radar is Texas WR Matthew Golden.

Golden had one of the more impressive showings at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting a 4.29 40-yard dash and a 1.49 10-yard split. Golden was as smooth as it comes on film at Texas, but the high-end athleticism was something that was often questioned. After posting such impressive numbers, plenty of teams and scouts will be heading back to the tape to confirm what the testing showed in Indianapolis.

WR Isaiah Bond - Texas​

Speaking of speed, Bond’s combine performance may contain a dark cloud in the form of failing to “walk the walk” after proclaiming he would break the 40-yard dash record. While that didn’t go according to plan, the Longhorn receiver is still fast and his 4.39 proved it. Bond was impressive during drills showing sharp breaks, quick acceleration, and excellent hands.

The disappointment of Jalen Tolbert and uncertainty of Jonathan Mingo should cause the Cowboys to take the receiver position seriously and find someone to partner with CeeDee Lamb. Bond has the skillset to be a fun weapon in space and give the Cowboys some much needed speed at receiver.

A name to keep an eye on is Jihaad Campbell from Alabama.

Campbell had a fantastic combine, measuring in above the 50th percentile for height, arm length and hand size among off-ball linebackers. He then clocked a 4.52-second 40-yard dash and a 1.52-second 10-yard split and hit 10 feet, 7 inches in the broad jump.

He, like Jalon Walker, feels like a defensive chess piece, but with even more natural ability at linebacker, which will be his home in the NFL. The Cowboys desperately need a true off-ball playmaker with DeMarvion Overshown coming back from injury and Eric Kendricks set to hit free agency.

Houston native Jaydon Blue may not be getting the same hype as Ashton Jeanty or Omarion Hampton, but you can bet he will be a major player in the NFL.

Blue, 21, showed that potential in Indianalpois on Saturday, as he blazed the 40-yard dash with a 4.38. That tied a Longhorns running back record for the combine, matching Jamaal Charles’s time.

Thanos was onto something with that statement, and the Dallas Cowboys are buying into it to begin the Brian Schottenheimer era, having allowed several familiar names and longtime coaches flake away to make room for the addition of a staff around their first-time head coach that is steeped as much in experience as it is new, fresh ideas. Schottenheimer spoke to striking such a balance, and how it came about.

It's impossible to look at Schottenheimer's staff on paper and not see the blend of experience and potential marrying together fairly seamlessly in Dallas. That is indeed something else that emanates from this new-look staff: energy.

Things are quickly coming together, and with few hiccups, if any at all, as the Cowboys' front office also approved the decision to pay the entire hefty expense to travel the entirety of the coaching staff to the NFL Combine with the goal of building continuity, maintaining the same message on a daily basis, and strengthening the working and personal bonds within the staff.
With a lot of work still ahead, the foundation is set.

It's not only the players Schottenheimer is developing but, much like his late, legendary father Marty Schottenheimer, there is also a coaching development already occurring.

1:30 p.m. - The Cowboys may be getting another key contributor to their defense back, as Pro-Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence appears to be nearing a return.

"We'll get [DeMarcus] Lawrence back against Cincinnati more than likely." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier today on 105.3 The Fan.

Lawrence last played in Dallas' Week 4 victory over the New York Giants, and was able to generate three sacks through the first four games of the season. It'd be a welcome addition to the Cowboys pass rush that tallied six sacks on Thursday against the Giants.
