Context.....We are all pretty bad but hell each of the other three NFCE teams spent major resources on the DT position

Commanders......... Allen and Payne
Giants...................Dexter and Nunez-Roches
Eagles....................Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter

Depends on who you face. We were pretty good the first game against Cleveland's backup back. We were very bad the second one. I think 4.9 for the season is about the best we can expect with the personnel we have. Hopefully, Zimmer can do make chicken salad out of it, but don't be surprised if it tastes like ...

It's almost like the Cowboys are average against the run, same as they were last year.

We spent a first round pick last year on a DT. That was a major resource. Haven’t seen the Giants or Commanders play this season, but at least Philly can run the ball with Barkley. Our defense is going to be left on the field a lot if we can’t run the ball or stop the run.

Sure we did but that's not close to the resources other teams in the division have invested. Besides Mazi is just in his 2nd year. the Giants and Commanders have so-called elite players on 2nd contracts. The Eagles have TWO former 1st round picks at DTs.

Hell, maybe it is part of a new trend where offenses are running more ( or taking what the defenses are giving) and scoring is down a bit. JMO
In Monday night's game, Hurts was like RB he ran so much.

Carter is just in his second year with Philly. That really makes no difference. We have invested resources on DT, but none of the players are working out. The Commanders traded Montez Sweat and Chase Young. That certainly hasn’t helped them upfront. I have more confidence Philly will figure out their run defense than I do the Cowboys figuring out their problems upfront.

Davis was lazy at Georgia and I don’t see that changing in Philly. Carter was worth the gamble imo even if he doesn’t pan out

Cowboys have a chance to make the post season. One and done, of course, but not a long shot to win the division and get in.
