Baldy breakdown of Parsons vs bucs

I'd be curious to see the snap breakdowns by half. The defense played better in the 2nd half and I'd be curious how many snaps Smith and LVE got for Neal and Parsons in the 2nd half. Gut tells me that Smith and LVE played more in the first half, but I could be way wrong.

I’ll tell ya what sydla. Just watching parsons vs the run. Compared to Jaylon. It’s night and day.

Jaylon Will watch a hole and play develop in front of him and wait for the running back to get to him for a 7 yard gain.

Parsons sees even the slightest hole and he just explodes right through it, to get to the RB.

Parsons will be very good. If he can be Devin White in a year, that would be great. But he won't have White's supporting cast - LaVonte David, JPP, Vita Vea, Barrett, etc.

We have D-Law..who has his criticisms but still might be the only front-7 player who can get to that level. After that, it's not looking good unless Osa or Gallimore become stars. I've never been sold on Gregory being anything more than good depth/a good 3rd edge rusher who can come off the bench.

Wow the bend Parsons had knifing through the OL to make the tackle was really impressive. He looked like he was bending the edge against a LT.

one is close to LOS, the other is 8 yards down field. I give you two guesses LOL

He played better than I thought a rookie would in his first game. It seemed that he was out of position at times but made up for it on instinct and athleticism. I can’t wait until he gets more comfortable and the game slows down for him…..which won’t take long. I like that he attacks the runner instead of backpedaling waiting for him to come to you(cough*Jaylon).

From the snap, as he moved to his right to fill the hole, he had to have lost sight of the RB because of the two OLmen stacked up against the DT. Yet he dropped down into that bend to fill the gap. Had there not been help coming from Parson's left, he still would have broken through and run that back down before he got any yardage.

I can't actually prove this, but i feel there are players that have such a higher understanding, they can anticipate where the ball will be and get there first. The fact this rookie was diagnosing plays and making plays is so encouraging for the fans, and an "Oh, shate!" moment for LVE and Jaylon.

This kid appears to have that insight.

Good call, viman96.

How he dipped down on that one to make the tackle looked like a cheetah chasing its prey. That was really impressive.

17 games is a long season and I am sure he will hit some walls along the way. LB is also a high contact, high injury position so I am fine with a little rotation. But he should be out there when it matters. A few positions off the field shouldn't hurt too much. If it does, than that is a bigger problem.

..now, can we get one more Parsons from somewhere?

I think it's in the Football Outsiders article I posted, where they talk about Brady moving him off his spot a couple of times to create an inside throwing lane. But hey, that's Brady against a rookie. Overall he just looks fantastic.

Our DL has been called out for its performance, but Tampa’s great DL didn’t do much to stop Dak from carving up their secondary. They were stout against the run but for all the acclaim they were more disappointing when you consider their level of talent.

He's not breaking down how he was in coverage but all in all this is a nice breakdown and encouraging to see. I think playing Brady first week was good for our youth. When they see younger guys like Herbert the game should become a little slower for them.

Jaylon and LVE both looked slow after watching Parsons run around. Did he play his best game? No. Lets remember he didn't play football last year so lets see if he gets better with time. But he is already a beast vs the run.
