Did you watch when it was just him and Armstrong? We had a dominant pass rush with those two as our best pass rushersIt's way more than that. You are talking about making Parsons the highest paid defensive player in the history of the league.
And I'm not sold Parsons is making others better. Who has he made better so far?
In theory that sounds great. But when I see the Cowboys continually lose to good teams I have my doubts.I'd say the attention he draws gives other DL a lot more freedom to penetrate and make plays. I think the pressure he brings makes the whole secondary better. I think the return of three defensive starters had a lot to do with the performance we saw yesterday, but I also think the presence of great players makes everyone's job easier, and Parsons is a great player.
Tell me how that worked against the better teams with winning records last year.Did you watch when it was just him and Armstrong? We had a dominant pass rush with those two as our best pass rushers
And your gonna put that all on Parson? For the last years he has turned into a good defensive unit with very little talent around. Im glad you and your ilk arent running team. We would be screaming for Jones boys backTell me how that worked against the better teams with winning records last year.
Whiff!
Without a great DL these are flashes in the panI would think ANY head coach/defensive coor would love having Parsons AND Overshown
And where was this Saquon last year on the Giants?I'd say the attention he draws gives other DL a lot more freedom to penetrate and make plays. I think the pressure he brings makes the whole secondary better. I think the return of three defensive starters had a lot to do with the performance we saw yesterday, but I also think the presence of great players makes everyone's job easier, and Parsons is a great player. I think Jeanty is going to be a great player too, and I doubt he'll be there when we pick but if he is I don't see how we pass on him. Philly is demonstrating what a great RB can do.
LOL please stop itAnd Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid defensive player. Think the 49ers want to trade him for picks even though they are struggling this season?
He's played in 10 games this year and has 21 tackles and seven sacks. Micah has played in 7 and has 25 tackles and 5 sacks. These are game disruptors. You hold on to those.
Injuries happen to all players, so I won't be surprised if injuries take a toll. If he stays healthy, he's going to remain a game-wrecker no matter what he is paid. There is no evidence to support him suddenly becoming lazy. He wants to be one of the best of all time.LOL please stop it
Parsons is a rush LB trying to play DE to get paid
Bosa is the best DE
Apples and oranges
Don’t complain when (not if) Parsons’ play suddenly drops off once he gets paid.
Injuries wont “take a toll”Injuries happen to all players, so I won't be surprised if injuries take a toll. If he stays healthy, he's going to remain a game-wrecker no matter what he is paid. There is no evidence to support him suddenly becoming lazy. He wants to be one of the best of all time.
Parsons is a pass rusher, like Bosa, and he's shown over the last few years that he's one of the best in the game at it. The numbers don't lie.
In his first three seasons, Micah had 40.5 sacks and 213 tackles. Bosa had 41 sacks and 156 tackles in his first four seasons (he only played two games his second season, which is why I counted his first four.)
Last year, Parsons led the league with 102 total pressures, per PFF. He finished first in pass-rush win rate (37%) despite being double-teamed at a higher rate (34%) than any other edge defender. Bosa ranked first with 21 quarterback knockdowns and finished second to Parsons in total pressures. He was double-teamed at a 26% clip.
Doesn't seem like apples to oranges to me.
Good game.......
You probably were one of those who only thought DeMarcus Ware got sacks when it wasn't crunch time, weren't you?Injuries wont “take a toll”
He is a LB playing DE and he should not be but he wants to be paid
He will be his usual ineffective self against top teams because they will run right at him and he will not be able to hold up just like SF and Lions etc have done repeatedly
He always disappears against top teams in December and in playoffs
It's not a theory. When teams pay attention to Parsons they're paying less attention to other Cowboys DLinemen. When Parsons is in the QB's face the QB isn't sitting in comfort scanning the field. It's football 101. But Micah's greatness doesn't mean the team as a whole is good enough to beat "good teams." I'm not sure the Commandos qualify as "good" but Mazi and Osa and Butler and the whole defense looked significantly better with some starters back and Micah in his third? game back off a high ankle sprain doing more and more Micah things. We'll see how the defense handles a bad Giants offense and then what happens against a very good QB and set of receivers, but whatever happens, I don't see how anyone can say Micah Parsons doesn't make the Dallas defense better. In theory that sounds great. But when I see the Cowboys continually lose to good teams I have my doubts.
