It's way more than that. You are talking about making Parsons the highest paid defensive player in the history of the league.

And I'm not sold Parsons is making others better. Who has he made better so far?
Odd that a moderator on this site is contributing to its downfall. Complete nonsense football knowledge.

You probably were one of those who only thought DeMarcus Ware got sacks when it wasn't crunch time, weren't you?

You seem to have some illogical hatred built up for Parsons, so enjoy that. This season has not been fun enough for me to feel like arguing.
Show me Parsons stats in December and playoffs LOL
Cant argue with facts

It's not a theory. When teams pay attention to Parsons they're paying less attention to other Cowboys DLinemen. When Parsons is in the QB's face the QB isn't sitting in comfort scanning the field. It's football 101. But Micah's greatness doesn't mean the team as a whole is good enough to beat "good teams." I'm not sure the Commandos qualify as "good" but Mazi and Osa and Butler and the whole defense looked significantly better with some starters back and Micah in his third? game back off a high ankle sprain doing more and more Micah things. We'll see how the defense handles a bad Giants offense and then what happens against a very good QB and set of receivers, but whatever happens, I don't see how anyone can say Micah Parsons doesn't make the Dallas defense better.
Thats not me
Not sure how you got my name on that post but i didnt say that

Parsons makes splash plays, but to me he isn't tough or sound vs the run. Surprising because most Penn State LBs are tough vs the run. Sean Lee comes to mind.

Parsons wants to get paid like a DPOY this summer. In four (4) playoff games he has one (1) sack and like eight (8) tackles. That's pathetic for someone who wants Jerry to break the bank for. I wouldn't do it.

What some people don't realize is he impacts the play even when he is taken out of it. Offenses have to scheme to stop him which should open opportunities for other players on defense. Micah gets a lot of attention. This is why the loss of Sam Williams is so significant. He has the speed on the opposite side of the field. He will get a lot of one one one blocks including TEs. He should have an easier time with Micah on the opposite side. But also, Imagine a Chris Jones type DT on the inside demanding double teams. Then how do you stop Micah.

In this next draft they absolutely must draft a disruptive DT if there is one available when they pick. But I am afraid they won't.

My only concern with Micah is his body does seem to wear down as the season goes on. This year could be different since he sat out 5-6 weeks.

All that said, when healthy, he has proven he is an elite pass rusher that teams must game plan against.

Maybe if we had a competent GM we would draft/sign some more front 7 talent and build off that.

IF a team in the top ten in the draft or better yet the browns offer us 2 #1's for him we should take it.
We got to get at least six upgrades and should get ten if we want to compete for a SB

i hate this argument. 3 of parsons 4 playoff games the defense played well enough to win. As a matter of fact the 2022 sf game it was daks fault the defense even gave up 23 points because of his ints.

TB the d played well… both sf games the d played well. Just because he didn’t put up flashy stats people say “he hasn’t performed in the playoffs”.

Last years Green Bay game…. Idk what you wanted him to do. He’s one guy… the entire defense was awful.

You “hate that argument “ because you have no recourse
Maybe start by accepting the fact that Parsons is a great player who is playing out of position to the detriment of the team just to get paid as a DE
Good playoff teams run right at him and he cannot hold up. That was a big reason why “the entire defense did not play well”
Play 2 real DEs and play Parsons at LB and suddenly the defense will improve
He does not deserve to be paid as the top defensive player in the NFL

This is even before the understanding that he is a loud mouth who draws negative attention

Face your bias and understand it
Everything will fall into place

As if trading him for draft picks gets you a player that has his impact on a game .
Draft picks are not guaranteed.

You have Two corners when healthy can cover you have Overshown at LB with Kneeland Lawson Parsons at Edge now go out and get some help at DT LB and possibly a safety to go with Bell & Thomas .

This draft other then a RB and a possible 3 or 4th round QB to compete meaningfully as a valid back up who pushes Dak should all be spent on D .
