Two minutes and one second before halftime against the Bears. Wilson is hog tackled , Horse collared knocked to the ground right in front of the referee. Quarterback runs for a first down. If they called holding on every single play that they could legitimately. The other team would never go forward

While I agree that they can't call them all, you would think the team that leads the league in sacks would also lead the league in holding calls. That that is not the case is an issue.

Parsons is being held by any standard being applied from junior high to the pros.

Parsons is constantly being molested and referees need to be made aware of what is happening. I'm pretty sure Quinn and McCarthy have notified the league probably more than once.

Two notes:
1. The Legend known as the Lion seemingly grows every game. I’ve watched some great players in my lifetime.. he really could end up being a player talked about for decades.

2. Kudos to LVE for forcing the fumble and Parsons opportunity.

That said, can you imagine the absolute meltdown this forum would have.. had LVE inadvertently tackled Parsons and robbed him of the TD near the goal line? Smh. Everyone on the field was running, except..

Still trying to figure out what LVE was doing at the end there when he ran into Parsons
LVE recognised there is a tackler and tries to cut across to block him , but he is slow , he ends up running into Micah. Lol

I don’t think that’s a hold on Micah Parsons until he turns to chase. It’s very clear the second move is a rip move and it put the OT into the hold exception. Once Micah turns however, the OT IMO takes liberties and plays at being clumsy disentangling. That was intentional and impedes Micah’s pursuit, I think that could be called but typically isn’t.

An excerpt from Rule 12: Article 3 that Marcus posted in a different thread -

(c) Uses his hands or arms to materially restrict or alter the defender’s path or angle of pursuit. It is a foul regardless of whether
the blocker’s hands are inside or outside the frame of the defender’s body.
Material restrictions include but are not limited to:
(1) grabbing or tackling an opponent;
(2) hooking, jerking, twisting, or turning him; or
(3) pulling him to the ground.
Penalty: For holding by the offense: Loss of 10 yards.

Blocking Notes:
(1) When a defensive player is held by an offensive player during the following situations, Offensive Holding will not be
called:
(a) if the runner is being tackled simultaneously by any defensive player;
(b) if the runner simultaneously goes out of bounds;
(c) if a Fair Catch is made simultaneously;
(d) if the action clearly occurs after a forward pass has been thrown to a receiver beyond the line of scrimmage;
(e) if the action occurs away from the point of attack and not within close-line play;
(f) if a free kick results in a touchback;
(g) if a scrimmage kick simultaneously becomes a touchback;
(h) if the action is part of a double-team block, unless the defender splits the double team, gets to the outside of either
blocker, or is taken to the ground; or
(i) if, during a defensive charge, a defensive player uses a “rip” technique that puts an offensive player in a position
that would normally be holding.
Exception: Holding will be called if the defender’s feet are taken away from him by the blocker’s action.

Notice the part I highlighted. That would seem to indicate that it's not, in fact, legal to grab the jersey or pads, even in the chest area, as many have stated it is.

Now explain the rip move in detail, please.

It's incredible for Parson to be double teamed past the QB and then recover the fumble of the receiver downfield.

But how about a little respect for the guy who *created* the fumble, LVE?

This is his best season since his rookie All Pro season.

If Baldy had noted it, I would have posted it. :)

Obviously he was going to throw a block if Micah had gone around him, but since Micah kept going straight, he gave him a little tap.

It was almost a tackle. Parsons was close to falling on his face after that, good thing 11 has excellent balance.

This true, LVE best season since rook year. And trending up, seems to be getting better as season progresses.

Just wish he played downhill more consistently and more physically.

Micah was worn out by that time. He was stumbling already. He'd just been held and double teamed trying to get to the QB, then turned around and chased the ball carrier about 15 or 20 yards (actual steps, not just yard lines) jumped on the ball, hopped up and ran the the end zone.

It's part of the the game and comes with the territory and this is a fast perimeter defense, so that means great pass rush with the speed we can bring gets to the QB and is disruptive vs leaving them at home and stop the RB from swinging off tackle.
We are trying to shore up vs the run and will be better with solid Hankins, and rook Clark that hasn't even figured out yet that he is allowed to lay the wood yet.
When Clark starts figuring out his game, Hankins starts settling in, and getting Sam Williams back healthy, that is a solid step forward in improving vs the run,
and not talking about taking an entire season to achieve that, it's already in place and Aaron is going to be like an experimental lab rat for Q coming out of the bye.
I'm making bets in Vegas already on this game being a defensive juggernaut of the season so far, there is good money to be made, not endorsing betting in any way.
GB OL have no idea how to handle this edge speed now.

Last game I saw him looking more physical. Not just minding his gap, but coming forward to *fill* it. Not just grabbing the ball carrier, but leaning in and driving through.

Physicality has lacked in his game. But I noticed more out of him in the last game.
