Except that 28 years is a BIG problem and why my fandom is not the same. Jerry has sapped the life out of me. Maybe you are younger and you are just rolling with it.

But if you experienced either the 70’s or 90’s or both, trust me you would temper your fandom.
I experienced the 70’s and 90’s and I’ll be honest I never thought we would be this way. I never thought the Bears would have more postseason success than us. Anyone who lived through the 70’s and 90’s and is watching this crap has to be disgusted.

You mean like this? This the type of quilting you yapping off about? This type of bandwagoning?

Thread: Rockport Quits
https://cowboyszone.com/threads/tir...d-fans-celebrate-after-a-cowboys-loss.491208/
What's incredibly appropriate is that in that quit thread, his OP rant against the cowboys fanbase that he despises so much got exactly one like (at least as of the time I'm posting this almost 2 years later on Christmas Day 2023). And it was from Aerolithe Lion, a lifelong Eagle fan.

By the way not a knock against Lion, I think he's a respectful opposition fan. Just noticed that not a single Cowboy fan came alongside this raving malcontent to offer so much as a single like. Instead it was a basic universal expression of relief at the possibility that he might be gone. That's very telling. And deserved.

Let the poor, scared rats jump. The seasons not over but see y’all next year!
You spend more time telling other fans how to fan than on a actually Watching the games.

Even more incredible is how his rage filled posts are allowed to stand yet if one posts a thread asking which team is trading for dak to get them over the hump, it gets deleted … comical … and the mods wonder why this site has gone in the toilet

The 90's when not winning a superbowl was a disappointment. How we have fallen ;)

I’m right there with ya, man. Been watching since 1965. I think “tempering” fandom is a function of age and wisdom along with the fact that the “modern” game and league is just so much less of a product than it once was on its face. Then, you add in the gambling partnering with Vegas and apparent corruption and, it doesn’t leave much to be excited about.

It's easy to be a fan who roots for something no matter what. No objectiveness required. Everything they do is magic.

Imagine loving something so much that you continue to spend your money and energy on it, knowing damn well the Owner (and Head Coach) gives your team no real chance, and will continue to let you down for close to 3 decades.
Imagine anyone taking umbrage with the idea of people spending their own money the way they see fit ..

And we are sorry that you DON'T have the experience of rooting for a team that is despised in enemy territory

We've got some fans with Cajones that wear a Cowboys Jersey in Philadelphia and Newark NJ......that's a committed fan base.

Dirty Jersey for this fan......ive had to throw hands for those cowboys colors and don't regret a single black eye, lol
I live 15 minutes from MetLIfe…and my friends are from Philly. I can’t afford to live in “27…28 years, I’ll wait…” world.

Hey everybody, check out the OP thinking there are actually bandwagon fans of a team that has not won crap in a quarter of a century:laugh:

Since the OP seems confused, here is the actual dictionary definition of bandwagon fans:

"Bandwagon fans only show interest and support for a sports team based on recent successes or popularity, e.g., when their city’s football team is going to or has won the Super Bowl."

The key word here is recent. Ergo, a team that has not advanced past the divisional round of the playoffs in 25 years, by definition, cannot have bandwagon fans.
