There's a Facebook page called "The Star" where people who make negative comments are kicked out. Some members here should go spend their time there instead. It would be a lot less stressful and filled with people who are forced to think just like them. .

Yeah but they'd miss out on the real reason they're here--threads like this.

They absolutely love to pound their chests about how much "better" of a fan they are and how they were "right" about this or that. Legitimate debate or even some humorous or sarcastic volleys aren't part of the deal. It's about proving their superiority in fandom and knowledge. That's their sole motivation for being here.

In a forum like what you described that possibility doesn't exist because everyone is forced to think the same as them.

That's why Rocky or any of the other malcontents who think and act like him aren't going anywhere .

He needs detractors. They are his lifeblood. They give his life a sense of self righteous meaning and purpose that he apparently isn't finding anywhere else.

I don't buy your version of just being right. Did you serve? And that is relevant as to your credability and strength of even have relevance of opinion and a lot of your chosen topics. If you did serve, what did you do to further develop our country after that?

The dictionary definition of quitting is "to stop actively participating in a physical or mental challenge."

Fans watching a pro sports team are not "actively participating", they are observing. When you sit your arse on the couch and watch the Cowboys you are an observer as well just like everybody else.

Ergo, a fan cannot be a quitter since they are not an active participant...........I am not trying to be a dick about it, but you are using words that have totally different definitions than what you are actually trying to say.

I wish the Cowboys has bandwagon fans. Been terrible for over 20 years and still the most popular team. If fans abandoned ship that would mean less money for Jerry. Less money for Jerry means big changes. We have never seen big changes because our fans are not bandwagon.

Remember a few years ago when Dallas lost to the Cardinals and I said oh boy this team isnt going anywhere and people like you kept saying oh they will get it fixed for the playoffs. Well I was right!
I told you it's coming! History has a way of predicting the future. A true fan is willing to see and admit the flaws in the team. Fake fans are in denial and have an agenda to blame everyone else but their favorite player who is part of the problem.

Difference between not rooting for Cowboys and not getting suckered in by the team.

I get suckered in all too often but I love the Cowboys and always stay optimistic. It's not easy on the blood pressure being a Cowboys fan. That's a definite. Why do we put ourselves through it? Because we love the team no matter what happens. At least real fans do.
