I Dont Know What The Coaching Staff Is Thinking. Barber Should Be Benched And Give More Carries To Choice And Def More Carries To Felix. It Doesnt Take A Genius To Figure It Out! Jones Agv More Than 10 Yrds Per Carry!! I Cant Stand It!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bench Barber Hes Over Rated I Dont Want Any One Or Two Yard Gains Anymore!!!!!!!

It's not so much about benching him as it's about moving him to his proper role: short yard situations, ie. goal line, 3rd and 1, and closer....

Do What It Takes I Dont Care. Felix Should Be In The Line Up 3/4 Of The Time! Whether In The Slot, As A Decoy, Double Rbs Idont Care. The Guy Gets Respect On The Field. Gosh These Coaches Are Idiots No Offense But I Would Think J.g. Would Do Something About This

Not to join in the complaint fest, but Choice looked kinda slow to me on that long run out of the wildcat. I know he's not a burner, but he seemed faster to me in other runs.

Choice actually looked fast to me, but he kept looking back at the defenders, which slowed him down. When they got him, I was screaming at the TV, because I just knew they would squander the opportunity for a TD... and they did.

Luckily, it turned out OK! ;)

Felix Wouldve Taken That To The House. Man. Were Reaallly Underutilizing Felix. I Know Im Gona Get Alot Of Replies To This But I Say Barber Needs To Be Used Only On Short Yardage Or Traded. I Know A Good Player When I See One And Barber Is Not. He Is Over Rated. He Is Slow. He Is Not As Powerful As He Was. Plus I Cant Stand His Exaggerated Moves Towards The End Of A Play To Only Gain A Yard Or Two.

so basically you hate barber by the way you say it? i think ur exaggeratingb Barber to me is a Great Player. Hes not super fast, but he gets the job done. if only he had 'any sort of breakaway speed' - he'd be considered GREAT in everyones eyes.

yea no offense but i dont like barber at all. i think the only reason they let him start is because of senority. his numbers dont prove anything. choice/felix combo is all we need. theyre the explosive ones. he is not the same barber as last year or the year before no offense

i will agree with you sumwhat. i mean with choice/felix , we can get a TD at any time. with barber, not really hes not gonna break that long run for 6. Its gonna be interesting to see how dallas deals with their 3 backs this offseason. its between Choice and Barber imo to leave.

ok I going catch a lotta Flack for this
but am going to throw this out there how about we trade Barber get rid of a big contract - we got two other RB's that would do just fine

now trade him and Hamlin (another big contract) to say to top five draft tream and get Eric Berry

and a 2 or 3 so we can get this kid

Toby Gerhart, Stanford
Height: 6-1. Weight: 232.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2010): 2-4.
10/10/09: Think Jim Harbaugh is relying on Toby Gerhart a bit? Gerhart already has 120 carries in five games. He has 650 yards and eight touchdowns on a 5.4 YPC.

2/6/09: Tony Gerhart rushed for 1,136 yards and 15 touchdowns for Stanford as a junior. He also chipped in with 13 receptions.

I don't know what kind of trade market there is for Barber, but I do wonder if he isn't slipping into becoming our third best back. Which is less an indictment on him and more of a compliment toward the others. I wonder if/when we'll reach a point when we're asking ourselves what role is left for the Barbarian?

I say this as a staunch Barber fan. I simply love the guy. My one complaint would be that I don't know he has as many tempo-setting, bone-crushing runs as he once did.

Either way, I don't mind the predicament. I like all three backs and am not sure we can go wrong. I think the most important thing is to simply have a plan. I think any of the three can make it work.

I agree Rain

I like him to but has that beating he has taken gotten to him

Choice and Felix are both clearly better runners than Barber. Barber is too slow to get threw the hole and much more suited for the role Parcells used him as and definitely not worth all the money he's receiving. Good player but he's being paid like a pro bowl back and he's not that type of back.

I don't see Barber as anything BUT an asset to our running game. He is THE guy that seemingly relishes contact and physically PUNISHES opponent defenses. He is the guy that rocks LBs and safeties back on their heels making it easier for a cat-quick Felix to hit the crease for a long one - for Tashard to take the swing pass for 20 yards.

And in third-and-short or goal-to-go... the Barbarian gets up the better head of steam. JMO

I think Tashard could fill his shoes in an emergency - Felix... not so much (but he is breath-taking when healthy).

I still love the guy. He's a baller.

There's a chance that when MB3 is at his best there's only one back in the league that is better than he is. That number 28 guy in Minnesota. Barber is an assett not only because of his running ability but he's a good reciever also and he's so physical. The other 2 backs we have aren't really that physical compared to him and that makes them that much hard to prepare for.

i guess its a good problem, when everyone wants to replace our starting running back who averages 4.6 ypc on a bum leg

He hasn't had that extra gear since the Giants game. Hes been stuck in 3rd and has no 4th.

I doubt he gets it back this week but maybe the 10 day layoff will bring us back the real MB3.

It would help us if he did get back to his old self.
