Good Grief. Some of you either don't get it or don't want to get it.
First let me correct some of you about Emmitt and the NY game. Emmitt didn't play with a dislocated shoulder. It was a shoulder separation which is not a dislocation or subluxation. You dislocate your shoulder then the head of the upper arm gets out of the shoulder socket.
He had a shoulder separation which is another joint. The joint between the collar bone and the shoulder is fairly immobile. But that's what gets separated in a shoulder separation. There are four grades. I don't remember what his was but the point is first you're wrong in your statements and you're wrong about the degree of discomfort and ability to function. Under normal circumstances the shoulder stays out when it gets dislocated completely. It ususally takes sedation and at times complete anesthesia to get it back in. You can play with a shoulder separation unless its too severe which his wasn't as evidenced by his recovery time. Still heroic. But you are wrong in your assumptions and in fact about the diagnosis.
The point being you're also wrong about Barber's toe dislocation being a simple thing. It could be simpler and it could be wose depending on what got injured in the dislocation and how much swelling there was as well as dysfunction. It's not a simple thing and you know much less than I do and I can't tell how bad it is other than what little I hear. And I still have to make assumptions.
You guys are nuts to think he wouldn't play if he could. It is INSANE to put him on the field less capable than Choice. Not to mention the delay in recovery that playing on it would absolutely cause. No assumption here.
You don't have to run around and scream when there is a problem. Relax and wait and see if there is a problem first. This is an opportunity for Choice to get some time in grade here. He may excel and then we'll have another weapn to bear against the enemy.
