I was wondering. If a team like the Falcons were to pay Barber and were willing to give up their 1st and 3rd, whouldn't it make sense for the Cowboys to let him go.

If they did that, they would have 3 first round picks, 1 in the second and 2 in the third.

They could sign Turner, who I think could be a great back in the Cowboys system.

Then they could draft McFadden with the 3rd or so pick, then still have their last 2 picks to spend on a CB and a WR.

Not to mention that they could use their second and both third round pics to solidify the interior offensive line and the middle LB possition.

Also pick up Moss, because I would really like to see what he and TO could do.

Why would the Falcons be willing to give up a 1st and a 3rd for Barber when they have so many needs?

Barber is not going anywhere...The guy is a TD machine. Turner and DMac can't do what MB3 has already done in this league. We need a compliment not a replacement.

Don't place too much stock in MBIII right now. He's the complement, not the replacement.

Many think he's a starter in this league. What he also needs to be able to do is finish. Something he cannot do right now.

If the Falcons want to blow those picks on him, I say we let them.

i love michael turner but no way do i wanna let MB3 get away. and i don't think atlanta would give up a 1 and a 3 for him when there are so many quality RB's in this draft.

why would a team like the falcons give up draft picks for MB? Why wouldn't they just sign turner.. or use their 1st on a top RB and save the 3rd for another player?? Makes no sense. Besides.. mb is not worth a 1st and 3rd to anyone. Not with one of the deepest RB drafts in recent memory.

Anyone who thinks there's a team out there that's going to give away a 1st and a 3rd for Marion Barber in a year when the RB class is this deep needs a serious dose of reality.

Here, I'll serve one up for ya:

IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!

Come on, you guys got to be kidding me. Barber cant finish, barber cant be a starter, barber should be traded. Nonsense. The guy abused the giants D, he didnt have huge gaps to run through like your other running backs, he paves his path knocking guys down. The momentum he brings to this team is unparalleled. There is no one on this team that brings that energy. Your other starting running backs have a big guy to punish Defenses. Barber has to do both, since Julius was incapable of doing anything. I say we go for a good corner back and a wide reciever.:bang2:

He does, you're correct.

Now I can't see Atlanta giving up a 1 and a 3 for Barber. it will not help them, as much, in the long term areas that they need far more than RB.

If Atlanta or Miami wanted to give up a 1 and a 3 to get Barber, as much as it would pain me to see him doing his thing anywhere else, I wouldn't be totally upset about it cause that gives us a 1 in the top of the draft along with 2 later 1's, allowing us to trade one of those out for another second.

I think you'd almost have to do that cause you wouldn't want to have to pay first round money to three different players, especially when one would likely be DMac and would be getting an ENORMOUS contract.

But with all this speculation about Barber, or even Canty, giving us 1st round (and possibly 3rd round) compensation if they go somewhere else, is only viable if Jerry didn't match whatever offer someone gave. The only way he's not matching the offer, on those two, is if that first rounder is coming from a team inside the top 12.

teams drafting in the latter part of the draft might look at Barber as the missing piece. No one is going to give a top 10 pick for a RB like Barber.

Everything else has already been said in regards to breaking something that already works. Barber is the man... resign him and fill the other needs we have. Case closed.

The other thing that does worry me is that there is a rumor that JJones will only tender Barber the 2 million dollar tender which would render only a 1st round pick and not a 3rd. Why? Who knows...
