Here's some bargain bin players I would be interested in during FA:

Sean Spence (UFA) Age: 25

  • At one time, Spence’s career was considered to be done after a horrific knee injury. But miraculously, Spence has fought back to become a pretty solid linebacker in a scheme that doesn’t suit him well. Spence is a natural 4-3 weak-side linebacker (5’11 235 lbs) who can run sideline to sideline. I don’t see Spence having a big market, but he should be a much better player on his second team if he chooses not to re-sign with Pittsburgh.

Brandon Boykin (UFA) Age: 25

  • Boykin was a favorite of mine pre-draft and he’s someone who has given Dallas problems in the past. Boykin has experience playing both inside and outside as well experience on special teams units. Boykin was traded to Pittsburgh before the season, but never cracked the starting lineup. Boykin may choose to leave to look for a starting job elsewhere and with Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr both schedule to be free agents, Boykin could be a cheap option.

We have the money, we need to take it up a notch. Spend the money for some top quality playmakers. Not saying the one's listed are bad, but Spence plays the same position as Lee. Pitts CB's were terrible and Boykin coudn't get playing time....that scares me.

I'm going with these based off that list:

Matt Moore (UFA) Age: 31

  • A former backup in Dallas, Moore has bounced around the league as a solid backup and has even played well as a starter in spot-duty. If Dallas wants to upgrade from Kellen Moore in the offseason(which shouldn’t be hard), Moore may be the kind of backup Jason Garrett wants to bring in.

Rueben Randle (UFA) Age: 24

  • Young, athletic and has the size Dallas covets. Randle had a career high eight touchdowns in 2015, but only managed 57 catches for 797 yards. Randle could be an option to replace Terrance Williams on the outside if Dallas chooses to go that route. Randle has a ton of natural talent, but needs to be coached up to reach his potential.

Walter Thurmond (UFA) Age: 28

  • Thurmond was excellent this year for the Philadelphia Eagles, creating four turnovers and racking up 71 tackles. He has experience at both corner and safety, but probably will be out of Dallas’ price range. However, if Dallas wants to move Byron Jones to cornerback permanently, Thurmond is an option at free safety.

I would love to be able to get Norman but I'm affraid that probably doesn't happen. I think he will either get resigned or just cost way too much. If we could get Norman, that would really help us because then you can just take Jones to FS and plug in the other. It would take a lot of money. Cut Carr and let Motown go?

Boykin doesn't have as much experience as you think playing outside. Philly was real hesitant to let him play outside and he was mostly a slot CB for them and the Steelers didn't seem to think a ton of him either. Not sure I'd want him playing outside for us either.

But if Scandrick comes back and you go draft for the other CB slot, Boykin as the nickle/slot guy wouldn't be a bad move.

I am a big Randle guy and think he'd be a nice #2 for Bryant. He has some dropsie issues but he's still a quality #2 IMO.

This is exactly my thinking. Half of our current linebacker corps are weak side linebackers. I'm not interested in adding any more.

Not playing dumb here; Lee, Wilson and one of the other 3 in depth or even Hitchens? I would think a speedy WOLB to replace Lee if needed is a must this off seson unless you see more in Wilson, etc. The team lacks LB depth and speed all around tbh and Hitchens/Ro are already slow, etc..

By the end of the season Boykin was logging more snaps, practically starting over the last quarter of the season. There is some suspicion that the Steelers intentionally limited his snaps to special teams early in the season to avoid playing him 60 percent of the total snaps which would take a 5th round choice to a 4th round choice.

He always seemed to make plays for the Eagles, he would be intriguing to look at.
