I am a big Randle guy and think he'd be a nice #2 for Bryant. He has some dropsie issues but he's still a quality #2 IMO.

No to Randle for me. It seemed that whenever Manning was getting picked off, he was the target.

various:

Off that list only 2 guys stand out.
1. Matt Moore. He's been in our system and can win you the occasional game.
2. Dwayne Allen. TE. He'd be TE2 this year and probably succeed Witten in 2 years. He can already block.

Boykin: Just not very good. He's a slot option alone and that hurts his value. He's a CB3 or CB4 somewhere. Hopefully not here.

Randle: Love his measurables but he might have worse hands than TWill. Kinda lateral not an upgrade.

Sean Spence: Really small for a backer at 5'11" and 231. Only a weakside guy here and we have Sean Lee.

Not playing dumb here; Lee, Wilson and one of the other 3 in depth or even Hitchens? I would think a speedy WOLB to replace Lee if needed is a must this off seson unless you see more in Wilson, etc. The team lacks LB depth and speed all around tbh and Hitchens/Ro are already slow, etc..

Gachkar, Nzeocha, Wilson. They all look like weak side linebackers to me. Hitchens played some in the middle but he looks to lack the pure size and physicality that you'd like for the position. Essentially, he's yet another weakside backer, better off being free to run to the football.

Here's some bargain bin players I would be interested in during FA:

Sean Spence (UFA) Age: 25

  • At one time, Spence’s career was considered to be done after a horrific knee injury. But miraculously, Spence has fought back to become a pretty solid linebacker in a scheme that doesn’t suit him well. Spence is a natural 4-3 weak-side linebacker (5’11 235 lbs) who can run sideline to sideline. I don’t see Spence having a big market, but he should be a much better player on his second team if he chooses not to re-sign with Pittsburgh.

Brandon Boykin (UFA) Age: 25

  • Boykin was a favorite of mine pre-draft and he’s someone who has given Dallas problems in the past. Boykin has experience playing both inside and outside as well experience on special teams units. Boykin was traded to Pittsburgh before the season, but never cracked the starting lineup. Boykin may choose to leave to look for a starting job elsewhere and with Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr both schedule to be free agents, Boykin could be a cheap option.

No offense to the original poster - in fact thanks for taking the time to share it - but I'm not interested in any players on this entire list.

Your other options listed are fair, but was also thinking of the inevitable w/Lee and not facing the huge drop off that would likely occur with those 3 options. I think Hitchens is just a little slow for weakside, but see your points in relation to depth already on the team. If you feel the players listed in OP are JAGs like the 3 mentioned, I hear you 100%. I thought they had more speed and athleticism, etc.

We have the money, we need to take it up a notch. Spend the money for some top quality playmakers. Not saying the one's listed are bad, but Spence plays the same position as Lee. Pitts CB's were terrible and Boykin coudn't get playing time....that scares me.

Thank you!! Quit the nickel and dime scheme... It does not work most of the time.

By the end of the season Boykin was logging more snaps, practically starting over the last quarter of the season. There is some suspicion that the Steelers intentionally limited his snaps to special teams early in the season to avoid playing him 60 percent of the total snaps which would take a 5th round choice to a 4th round choice.

He always seemed to make plays for the Eagles, he would be intriguing to look at.

Oh, those sneaky Steelers. Good info.

Torn rotator cuff Billy Winn?

Thanks, but we already have a much better defensive end to be late to team meetings.

You should keep the Cowboys and Boise State love separate.

He'll be ready for 2016..and he would be playing NT. Out goes Hayden...in comes Winn:dance:

Broaddus was saying that teams don't intentionally do that because it ruins relationships for future trades and other deals. If it was that obvious that that was going on, it was obvious to other teams too.

This is the Boise State guy I would like to get, especially since Berry will probably not be coming here. Iloka would be an upgrade to Church/Wilcox and will give us a good tandem with Jones while not being as expensive as the top two guys.

I think Moore would have been our best corner last year after Scandrick went down. I have no idea why we just
let him go. I would not mind having him back as our 3rd/4th corner.

It was pretty suspicious. They were having all kinds of corner issues early in the year and he was not getting on the field. Antwon Blake was getting killed and they even brought in Ross Cockrell and he went straight into the lineup over Boykin. He could have been in some sort of doghouse, but it was rather odd that from the Colts game on, he was in there practically all the time.

Actually if the Cowboys were smart, they would get to work looking at the veteran cuts like William Moore and Michael Griffin prior to the regular free agent period.

Neither guy can run anymore....3-4 years ago..I would have been all over these guys....Sadly, I think time has run it's course:(
