Who would you take any why? Both are mocked to us. Different players.

Barnett every time; complete player and likely Day 1 starter.

I think McKinnley is a 34 OLB or an Edge specialist guy in a 43 (ala Mayowa) but what I don't see is an every down 43 DE. I see flashes of the talent that people like, but you can't make the round hole fit the square peg; he's not a scheme fit IMO. Can we utilize him here? Yes, but I'll always give a potential starter type prospect the edge over a specialist type.

Who does Barnett compare to in your mind? You have sort of described Almost Anthony Spencer (Barnett) and Bruce Irvin (McKinley).

I see a Terrelle Suggs type way more than I do Spencer. Apples-to-oranges anyways; Barnett would be playing his natural DE position. We don't know what Spencer would have been like had he played with his hand in the dirt as a pro (he was successful at it in college).

Barnett played well and very productively in the SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC! Doubtful he will be available at 28, but if he is, he will be heads and shoulders better than the other late round DEs available.

The better question is Harris or Barnett? I need to look at more Tak film. Not sold on him yet.

I certainly hope Barnett is not another Anthony Spencer.

I think he is better than Spencer with more pass rush moves, got a feeling he wont do well in the Combine but i would have qualms about taking him at 28 if he make it.

If I had to wager a bet, my guess is that McKinnley weighs in much less than his listed 258 lbs.

Barnett as I have no doubt he could come in day one and start and probably lead us in sacks. Tao probably has made re upside but more unknowns and thereby risk to also include injury concerns. I'll take the safer pick att

Barnett

Gets the most consistent pressure and plays with strength and leverage instead of trying to jump around players to make plays. Already near NFL strong with really strong base.
Change of direction is weak and a bit stiff, but best during the first 4 seconds of the play with strength, leverage and elite bend. Plays smart with good recognition and reaction. Needs to work on counter moves, but can rush from both sides.

I'm not really a fan of McKinley at all in terms of being an NFL level pass rusher. He takes wide paths, relies a lot on speed and doesn't play with enough leverage or strength. NFL tackles will handle him easily. Also has shoulder issues.

Barnett is a football player. One thing you won't see if you watch his games is QBs or RBs getting away from him once he gets his hands on them.

The biggest drawback with him is he's got an edge, he'll likely get his share of personal fouls.

Makes me want him more. I'd love to see some atttude. Maybe ARod will keep his mouthguard in next time he plays us with Barnett lining up and coming after him.

Yeah, this is not really a tough question at all. Its Barnett all day.

I'll give you guys a question back at ya - If/When Tapper returns, what is he ? LDE or RDE (Or, no-one knows yet) With His size and speed could he be a part of the RDR rotation, or is he a strong side only. Either way, if we could add someone like Barnett over the other late 1st round prospects , this draft would be off to a flying start !
