Parsons fades each season, and he's a one-trick pony. Lawrence is a better player.

Bland made history, but he also gave up a lot of big plays. Lots of them. Gilmore is far more complete.

Martin wasn't as good as Tyler Smith. Reputation.

Demarcus Lawrence fan here.

But imagine having the audacity to say Demarcus Lawrence is better than the guy on defense who is having one of the best starts to a career statistically in NFL history.

You think NFL OCs are sitting around, scheming, and telling their guys that Micah is a “one trick pony”, and the guy they really need to account for is Lawrence?

Micah is a speed bump in the running game. Lawrence is a more complete player. That's all I'm saying.

I also think Micah will have a much shorter career. He's too small for what he's doing.

Micah's last 2 games: 13 tackles, 7 solo, 3 TFL, and 5 QB hits all while being held most of the game by one or two players. If that's wearing out and not consistent enough I don't want to know what is. People like you only pay attention to sacks and think that's the end all be all.
I actually think the last few games have been some of his best. He’s making really nice plays in the run game and has been in the QB’s face all game.

He is an absolute monster. You will be hard pressed to find another defender that gets doubled or even tripled as much as Parsons.

Glad some of you can objectively understand when a player deserves an award rather than just because he wears this uniform.

Saying Barnwell is voting Martin in on reputation is laughable. The guy studies film weekly.

Here's what he says on Martin.

Offensive linemen sometimes receive accolades well past their peak, if only because there's no common measure we can easily rely upon to judge their performance. Ask around the league and talk to people who are watching linemen each week, however, and you'll hear as many raves about the 33-year-old Martin now as you did five years ago. Enough of the physical tools that allowed him to play left tackle in a pinch are still around, and he has seen everything opposing defenders can throw at him by now.

Some college tackles who move inside at the NFL level can struggle with their strength or ability to hold off bigger defenders; first-round pick Peter Skoronski is dealing with that right now for Tennessee. Martin was one of the conversions who adapted immediately. He ranks fourth in run block win rate among guards this season. It still seems impossible that the Cowboys debated between picking the future Hall of Famer or quarterback Johnny Manziel in the first round of the 2014 draft.
No one watches 2023 film of Martin and confuses it for 2018 film.

His overall play is Pro Bowl level let alone All Pro level. The best corners in the league get beat on occasion but he's made plays against some of the best receivers in the league. If Bland isn't All Pro/Pro Bowl then I don't know who is. He earned it.
Awfully huge difference between All Pro and the sometimes comically easy to make Pro Bowl
