If you’re critical of Tyler Smith maybe it’s because he’s at guard not LT. My idea on pre season before regular season have Tyron at RT Steele in reserve .

Something isn't right with our OL, Pollard looks like Zeke last year where he has a player in his face as soon as he gets the ball. Pass protection hasn't been much better. Perhaps not much time together to get that continuity or they are struggling with the new blocking scheme.
It’s the scrub RBs.

Tony has lost a step or three. His foot was pointing backwards.

The scrub RBs aren’t asked to pass block because they can’t.

There isn’t much pre snap motion either.

It’s just a basic offense.

I doubt Solari is the problem. He grew up with Landry.

Btw, huge mistake letting KMoore walk. Will cost us in the end.

Kellen Moore offense put up 10 points . 7 were gifted when Turpin was blown up on a punt .

I like Steele.

But the injury has slowed him down.

Give him time.

Tyler is better at LG. But he leans too much. Needs to work on his technique.

I’m guessing you didn’t see that Bass was the worst of 3 backup linemen used when we had injuries. His blocking scores were not good at all. He needs time. Chuma is the guy if we made a change, but that’s not happening unless there’s an injury. Tyron was good at LT this game. Tyler had been very good at LG. He had a bad game.

I know many would like to keep Tyler at LG, including myself (ideally). But if the goal is to get your best 5 of the field, I'd suggest moving Tyler to LT and playing Bass at LG. I was actually impressed with how stout Bass is, and how smart he seems to be as a player. To me, having Bass and Tyler on the left side gives you more flexibility in the run game and maybe even better pass protection.

Plus, it's only a matter of time before Tyron gets injured again.

I want to plan for the future. Starting Bass not only develops him for the future, but it allows you to be more creative in the run game on the left side because Tyler and Bass are more mobile than Tyron nowadays.

Part of the problem is obviously McCarthy, but he made about as much improvement in one week as you could ask for. I saw more pre-snap motion and a tad bit more creativity in the passing game, which really helped our team. I would just like to be more consistent on offense.

I know it would suck for Tyler to have to switch positions again, but I think it would be better for productivity.

The way I see it, Tyron is starting now based on his legacy. And the team seems set on leaving Tyler at LG, which is why Edoga is backing up Tyron. I just think we're a better team with Tyler at the most important position on the line. And I think Bass can man that spot and play well enough to start at LG. To me, fixing the offensive line problems is the first thing I'd work on during the bye week.

We have a lot of depth, but not a whole lot of stability with our starting 5.
Bass struggled when he played in real games but he was the darling of the preseason...

The Chargers appeared to know when the Cowboys were going to run. They often appeared to know which direction the Cowboys were going to run.

Tyron was the best OL vs the Chargers and has been top 2 in the other games he played.

This can’t be shocking many of us predicted it
It’s still early but the line will be our undoing

Regardless of pff stats this line is mediocre at best even Zack is a step back

Tyron graded out ok but can be seen getting beat multiple times and is responsible for at least 1 maybe 2 of Dak sacks

I’m not certain Torrence would have been the fix but I’m pretty certain schoon wasn’t at least right now

Tyron was our best OL at LAC. The OL does have issues at center and RT. Whatever the perceived issue, the answer does not involve inserting Bass.

Saw Torrence in London struggling. Some players need development time as the Cowboys have been very fortunate with their 1st rd lineman. As for Schon, remember it took Shultz 3 years before making a big impact. TE is a position with a big learning curve, would like to see a veteran added to the group to help the prospects out

I gotta disagree here. Stephen is not an idiot. He is the best chemical engineer the NFL has ever seen in a front office.

Moore wasn’t the answer either as the offense was terrible down the stretch the last two seasons especially the run game. Team needs to hire someone from either the 49ers or the Rams to bring in a modern scheme.

Schultz was stuck behind Witten. He did well the first time he was given any real opportunity. Schoon is walking into a position group devoid of any real talent. If he was any good, he would take over.
