Chaisson has had success against all these top tackles in this class. His issue has been not being consistent enough and his inability to finish. He is just 20 years old and missed almost an entire year due to injury. He was the best LSU defender down the stretch, a unit that has a few 1st rd prospects. Yes, a team who drafts him is not getting a finished product and has no idea what type of player he will become, but his upside could be top 5 in this entire draft.
Either one would be fine. Pass rushers are hard to find. Don’t be surprised if both go in the top 20. I would not be surprised if both are gone by 15. They both fit 3/4 defenses. The Ravens, Dolphins and Patriots for example need pass rushers. They have the draft chips to move in front of us or trade with us.Baun is the high floor guy. Chaisson is the high ceiling guy.
Pretty fair assessment. I just don’t feel great about a risk/reward player in the top 20.
I agree with you, but these type of talents are usually top 5-10 selections. If you can land one at a discounted price, it's worth the gamble.
The top 5-10 selections have high sack / TFL / pressure rates.
You draft traits and upside later in the draft.
I agree to some point. Tyron Smith was also a 20 year old rookie who had similar question marks about. If I remember correctly, some thought he had to add more functional weight, might be more of a Right Tackle on the NFL Level, wasn't even the best lineman on his college team. It was an potential, upside pick in the top 10. Some argued at the time, take the safer Tackle in Castonzo. It worked out well for the Cowboys banking on Tyron Smith's upside potential,

Probably not but the NFL scouts look at things different then draftnicks. Plus even draftnicks think he is one of the best pass rushers. His cone drill was fantastic.Baun will not go top 15.
Baun put up a lot more production with less talent around him. Chaisson is young but has had injury issues. My friend who is a big LSU fan says Chaisson looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. I haven’t watched either one enough to know. But you can’t go by a highlight reel.
Your friend is an idiot.
Chaisson was dominant down the stretch for LSU.
It’s not even debatable.
Baun will not go top 15.
Probably not. I was a fan of Haason Reddick and didn’t think he’d go that high and he went 13th.
I think Baun is a better prospect.
I’ve been surprised by Riddick’s lack of success as an NFL player.
