BB says he would draft Banks at 12 to replace Martin ( RG)

My perspective is if you draft Banks he better be playing LT. I'm not a fan of drafting a RG at #12.

Several OGs are around 6'3 325 in this draft, so go get one of those guys in a later round.
100% agree…I might be in the minority here but I saw some great flashes from Guyton to believe he can be the guy. Middle of the season I think he had a 3 game stretch where he only gave up 3 pressures. Just needs to clean up the penalties - similar to Tyler S his rookie year.

I would not be adverse to taking a season to see what the young guys have. Bluntly speaking we have so many holes on this team that we are not going to be contenders this next season anyway.
I agree…I’d be hard pressed for OL in round 1 since the top OTs are being considered as potential Guards. Let the young guys develop and if a stud G is BPA later draft him and let him compete.

Banks would be a stud Guard…but like RB class is loaded.

I would not take a OL at 12 unless it was a blue chip OT prospect and this class doesn’t have one.

Wait on RB and G…
We already have a 1st rd guard, waste of resources to take another

I’m not against takes like this. What Cowboys fans need to realize is that this team won’t have another championship window until everyone over 30 is gone. Might as well draft a position that will be around a while.

Drafting a RB while we sunset Dak, DLaw, Martin, etc makes no sense to me, cause they’ll be aged out by the time we are good again unless we hit a gem qb on accident

Will McClay needs to load up on defense in this draft . Hoffman & Bass can handle this position BB wants to spend the 12th pick on .

31st ranked defense in giving up points . Hello. Who’s 32 wretched Carolina ?

I agree 100 % . Guyton came off immature and was thrust into a really pressure position . Move him over to RT and watch him become a fixture like Tyler Smith . Try Asim Richards as your LT . Steele depth .

We just spent an entire offseason and season working with Guyton to be the LT. He showed me enough promise where I want him to stick there.

I think Bass or Hoffman would be just fine there.

Given the fact we have limited resources, drafting an RG at 12 would not be prudent.

If we stood relatively pat with our current o-line, but with Martin retiring I could see the following:

Tyler Smith - LT
Bass/Hoffman - LG
Beebe - C
Bass/Hoffman - RG
Guyton - RT

IMO, Steele is an absolute liability at RT for us. I never thought he was a world beater but thought he was more than adequate pre-ACL injury. He’s been an absolute turnstile now two seasons post injury. This is a slept on need.

If we cut Steele post June 1, he’d be a $14.1M cap savings. I think Waletzko and/or Asim Richards could fill-in as backups.

I believe this board all agrees to make Steele a post June 1st cut and slide Guyton back to RT

We've spent too many high picks on OL lately. Spend one later, or let a developmental guy like Richards play.

This team needs help in the defensive front and another playmaker at WR and/or RB.

We have to see who is on the board when we pick. But if Banks is the top player on your board you have to take him. He appears to be an upgrade over whoever the Cowboys have either at RG or LT, or RT for that matter. The goal of the draft should be to get better.

Of course the priority for this team should be interior DL and maybe they can do something about that in free agency. But if a can't miss DT falls to 12, and it is between him and Banks, I would take the DT. The problem is, I am not certain there are any real impact DTs in this draft. I know some get a lot of attention but they don't really stand out to me.
