I stated yesterday I dont think the overall bowl records by conference are much of an indicator of how much better or worse one conference is than another. The reason is because in the bowls, especially the lesser one's some teams clearly put forth poor efforts in alot of cases because they are dissatisfied with where they went, and some teams dont handle the layoff well.
I was listening to Cowturd today though and he brought up the records in JUST the BCS games, and I do think that might be an indicator because these are the better bowls, with the better teams and usually (though not always) those teams put forth quality efforts.
The results are undeniable. The SEC is BY FAR the best conference in BCS games, with a record of 14-5. The SEC is also undefeated in national Chamopionship games, now 6-0.
Where do some of the others rank? The ACC is dead last at 2-10. The Pac 10 is 2nd at 9-5. The Big 10 is in the middle at 10-11. Where does the Big 12 rank? Next to last, at 7-10. The Big 12 also ranks last in Championship Game winning %, with a record of 2-5.
I do think this is rather telling.
