Man, Iowa would have 2-3 losses with another schedule. Iwould bet OU, OK St, and maybe even Missouri and Texas tech would beat those guys....but good for them, I guess. I say if we were measuring who is best reagrdless of records, they may not be top 10. I do give them credit for having one decent win vs PSU and they make for a great story.

Iowa plays Ohio State in Columbus in a couple of weeks, and after that their BCS ranking will be moot.

Iowa's beaten a top 10 team even Boise State has a win vs. a top 10.

Frauds atop the rankings are Texas, TCU, and Cincinatti. Going undefeated in a weak conference like they play in should mandate a legitimate OOC win,

Next week Oregon will jump BSU.

The BCS is a joke.

I don't know any team that would want to play Oregon right now.

That offense is clicking so hard it's scary.

one can argue that the mountain west is better than the big ten, i for one think TCU would beat any team in the big ten on a neutral field

Iowa played and barely beat a frickin' 1-AA team at home. And barely beat Arkansas State at home..a team that lost to LA-Monroe, who Texas throttled. And I read earlier that Texas is the only team among FL, AL, IA that has defeated two teams currently in the top 20. Their schedule isn't great but it's no worse than the others.

I've also had Texas @ #3 until this week.

The Offense is finally showing up and Colt looks like Colt.

Im still scared of the matchup of a Florida or a Alabama vs Texas if the game is a defensive struggle.

My reasoning is Texas is a small speedy defense that is built to stop big 12 passing attacks. The worst matchup for Texas would be a team that plays great defense and pounds the ball right at them.

That being said if Texas gets any kind of lead than their defense is the last defense you want to have to consistently pass against.

I'd still like to see more runs up the middle from Texas. Especially early in games and maybe get more of Cody J when the ball crosses midfield.

That being said they are the #2 team in the Nation right now.

1 more thing.... Earl Thomas > Eric Berry

Thomas should be the lead canidate for the Thorpe Award imo.

Like I said the Big Ten is better than the WAC, Big East, Mountain West. That's all I will say and that's all that needs to be said. All that they barely beat this team and that team crap means nothing to me. They won the game period and I am not even an Iowa fan.

Stan,

I think your Penn State Jersey is showing just a little bit here. Iowa beat Penn St. Iowa's strength of schedule, as of week 9, is not all that impressive. How good is Penn State? I don't know but the Penn St. Schedule this year is ranked something like 109th. Penn St. may have been ranked #5 in the country at the time Iowa played them but I don't think that is proof of anything.

If you take Iowa out of Penn State's schedule, the teams they have played are a combined 29-30.

Akron 1-7
Syracuse 3-5
Temple 6-2
Ill. 2-6
E. Ill. 7-2
Minn. 5-4
North Western 5-4.

Penn State has had a very easy schedule this year. I don't believe they deserve to be ranked as high as they are but I think the OSU game will decide if I'm incorrect in that assumption or not. They may be that good and just have a poor schedule. Either way, I don't think you can point to Penn State and say that this is proof that Iowa is good at this point in the season. If Penn State gets trashed by Ohio State, then I think this probably answers the question of how good a quality win Iowa's victory was over them. I mean, other then Penn State, who has Iowa played? Maybe Wisconsin who is not ranked. I just am not all that impressed with Iowa to this point.

I don't know that the Big 10 is better then the MWC. They certainly haven't shown it IMO. I think it's very debatable.

Might not mean anything to you but it does for anyone trying to reasonably evaluate how good a team is. They should get credit for winning all their games of course, and they are..which is why they are ranked high. The reason they are behind some other teams is because they haven't been impressive in most wins, barely beating teams at home that the top 3 teams would beat by 50-60 points playing barefooted with the field tilted against them.

iowa is second in the computer ranking...that tells you right there that we need a playoff

The only reason we'd need a playoff is if we ever want to have a (non-mythical) NCAA national football champion. What a crazy concept!

You think Texas is a fraud and Iowa is not? That's one week of probation for you due to lack of football IQ. :D

Iowa has 2-3 losses already with Texas' schedule and UT is still undeafeted with Iowa's. And I actually like Iowa.
