I'm not sure about replacing parcells--but some coaches match up better and can get more out of certain players. Is Parcells the right kind of coach for the group of young
players that we have. ? Or is he the kind of coach that will have them so afraid of messing up that they paly to cautious and not up to their true potential.
been a fan since the 60's and always will. Doesn't mean I can't gripe

I could understand the rookies messing up because they are scared to make a mistake, but really they aren't. Players like Ware, Canty, Ratliff and so on are playing aggressively. Petitti is giving all out effort.

It is the veterans, like Roy Williams, Flozell Adams and Larry Allen, that are behaving mechanically. I finally brought myself to watch the Raiders game again and I was amazed at how poor Allen and specifically Adams looked.

Alexander, I think you hit a sore spot with that.

Allen and Adams were supposed to be the strength and anchor of the line. To say that they are not is to put it mildly. Their laziness and unmotivatability are a poor example to set for the newcomers. They were both influenced by Erik Williams' stoic stubborness and his refusal to care enough to become passionate about playing. Except for his many penalties, he was utterly mechanical and lethargic in his play. He was not worth either his reputatiohn or the money Jethro paid him and his example has rubbed off on Adams and Allen, who are passing it on the the newer players. Are they ever going to care enough to put forth some effort? Any effort? If the future is a mirror or the past, the answer is no.

Of course, being a fan, I like the team anyway and I always hope they will win but I try not to delude myself into thinking they are better than the results they get on the field. To think that the Boys are always the best team and to believe that they will win every game is not being a fan, it's being delusional. Of course, being delusional makes it easier to be a fan.

Just to clarify. Delusional is a word that would not be used to describe my definition of being a fan. Any fan will criticize their team after a loss.

Watching Larry Allen get manhandled by Warren Sapp, of all people, was surreal. But I don't want to get rid of Larry after one bad game. Parcells should never have went for the fake punt in SF. But if it works, he looks like a genius and the team looks unstoppable. Roy Williams should have stayed in deep coverage instead of looking for the big hit across the middle against Washington. But he's a very good player who noticably improved on that in the following game.(even though they still made Rattay look like Marino for 3 quarters)

All who have responded are knowledgable fans. I look forward to reading your posts often. I guess there are some bad apples everywhere and this forum is no different.
I don't wear rose colored glasses but I am optimistic in that we seem to be able to play with anyone. That gives an oppotunity to win every week. In this league, parity is the defining point. One day there will be a SB Champion with a 9-7 record.

Thank you for listening. (uh, I mean, reading)

And don't forget.......Cowboys WIN BIG!!!

I've been a cowboys fan since 1975 thru it all. We have a good team that appears is still searching for an Identity. Hope we find it soon.

We will find it today with a victory over the egirls.

What made it worse was they were not getting beat by speed, which is their usual downfall, but by power.

I hope the players don't feel like the fans and the media here in Dallas. They're giving Philly too much respect. Excuse my french I(and mods too) F*** Philly! Go Cowboys.

One guy this morning said Philly will hang 31 on us. I'm like, do you not remember the game at Philly last year. Despite our struggles with the deep ball, we're a much better team defensively than last year.

This is my biggest complaint as well. I am liking very much what I see out of our kiddoes, but some of these vets are just killing me. Mental errors and, at times, just poor effort.
