Because can you imagine Mickey spagnola running this team? Did anyone hear talkin cowboys today?

He is out of control. He's against doing anything with miles or ware because of fear they might leave. And all he cares out is the dead money they will lose.

He totally disregards the 12 million they will get back on the cap. So frustrating listening to him. Just doesn't get it

I agree it gets worse each season. I love what he says about every single free agent " if their so good why didnt their team keep him?" As if there is no salary cap. You might notice Mickeys pic in my profile pic.

it's one thing if you're on the verge of a Superbowl, but damn Jerry you're not, so cut bait with the older guys and bring in some young developmental players.

Baltimore is basically in the same position with Suggs as Dallas is with Ware. We'll see how the two GMs handle basically the same situation.

I'm hoping that Jerry Jones designates both Ware and Austin June 1st cuts. It is the right thing to do in this situation and the team in the long run. Let both those players see what market value is. CB Mike Jenkins got a smack in the face when he hit the market. Austin would be lucky to get the vet min and most likely will not be on any team's final roster to start week one so his salary is not guaranteed. Ware will get about $5M/yr on the open market.

If you all hate Mickey so much, then why do you listen to him, and read his articles.
Then we can have 25 less threads of crying and whining....I swear you all aren't happy unless you can whine....

Wonder what happens on here when this team starts winning again, and whoa, win a SB...

Oh, wait, here comes the we won't win with JJ whining comments...

My biggest peve with Mickey is when he answers a question with a question, what a dumb way to converse. I like it when him and Brian go at it. At least they are not Nick Eatmen.

I remember listening to the draft show on draft night with Mickey, Broaddus and the radio guys on the fan last year. Mickey talked about how it would be a mistake to trade down because you always take a lesser player.

The Cowboys were on the clock and everyone on that station couldn't believe that Shariff Floyd had basically fell into the Cowboys lap. They all were excited including Mickey about drafting Shariff Floyd. Well, the Cowboys trade out of the pick and Broaddus just couldn't believe what had happened and was disappointed because he felt like the Scouts had no say in the decision and he knew the Cowboys had Floyd high on their draft board.

Mickey, who did all that talking about how it would be a bad idea to trade down immediately changed his tune when Jerry trading out of the pick and starting second guessing Floyd who he was just praising earlier. He said "well why are these other teams passing on him then" I just couldn't take Mickey serious anymore after that. He's just funny to listen to now.

Unfortunately if you hope to hear some actual football info from Broudus who is not exactly Mr personality but knows his stuff, you have to hear Mickey aka (Jazzcat) too.

Why would you want to keep them @ ALL considering they can't play? JJ justifying Ware to protect the poor investment was expected; but Miles too? That is too much. The money that could be used from Ware's contract (even dead money included) makes it ridiculous that we are talking pay cut, restructure, considering the egg he left on the field last year. He is done.

Ware is a poor investment?

I'm guessing you saw him falling off how he has.

And I'm guessing you know he'll never regain any sort of his ability.

I'm not thrilled with how much he's gonna be paid coming off the season he just had but to flat out say he's a bad investment is mind bottling to me.

You're really using Sharrif Floyd as an example? Really? The Cowboys got that one right.

Oh not at all, I was accounting for JJ's attachment with Ware this upcoming season (GMs have tough jobs). I have white/blue Ware jerseys (love me some Ware, just love the Cowboys more :)). It's just time to move on; 6 sacks @ RE in a 4-3 coupled with age and salary just make it the wise move to cut ties...I don't want to HOPE he turns it around? Use the money elsewhere...the D needs to rebuilt outside of CB anyhow. Go young and cheap (FAs) and build through the draft on the lines.

If they can find a way to keep Ware and Austin and stay under the cap without adjustments, more power to them. But, I fear it would make it more difficult to sign Dez, Tyron, and even Bailey long term.

Who in the heck wants Austin on this team? He brings absolutely NOTHING except an occupied stationary bicycle for his hamstrings. The dude has no value.

Shariff Floyd has nothing to do with it. It's the fact that Mickey back tracked on everything he was so much against as far as trading down. The Cowboys had Shariff Floyd as the highest player on the board at the time and according to Mickey you take a lesser player when you trade down. It was just funny when he started defending the trade after it happened when he just when on this rant about not trading down.
