Bears last in sacks allowed. Dallas 1st in overall sacking

I’m not sure, but wasn’t Washington first in sacks allowed when we played them? I know they had given up a lot of them. I believe we only got two sacks on Carson Wentz.

If we can stop the run and force more passes from Fields, we should win easily. Not a good QB. A running back playing QB.

Lions are horrible Dallas almost fell behind 13-10 4th quarter . Parsons Tank to the rescue. Take nothing for granted . Lost an O lineman and a DB last week . A win with no serious injury go 6-2 take next week off . Go Cowboys .

they give up so many sacks because Fields holds the ball for a long time, they run block better than us.

yeah but they basically hampered their passing game to do quick passes. when Wentz held the ball the Cowboys beat the crap out of him.

On paper it looks very favorable as far as us wreaking havoc in the Bears backfield. Conversely, the Bears are only ranked 22 in getting to the quarterback while our quarterbacks have had the 5th best pass protection in the NFL.

If Fields can be contained with his running and our offense can overcome Zeke being out, the game should go our way. The key is to convert early and not wait till the 2nd half to put up substantial points. Just got to get out with a “W” injury free and let that bye week work for our injured players

We still ended up getting behind in that game and Washington ran the ball on us for over 100 yards in the first half. We played much better in the second half, but that wasn’t an easy game.

As I said you play for 60 minutes. Give we wins, stats are what they are.

Yes they can be used the other way. We see them used more against as the term…garbage stats…than for.
Total stats yes are used to prop players up at times also. Everyone has an agenda.

I am just saying the term garbage stats is stupid.

The last TD we scored against the Lions was after a turnover and gave the offense a 24 yard field. Running the ball got us to the 2 yard line and the TD thrown was to 1 off the 2 receivers that were uncovered in the end zone.

the game was theoretically over at that point but showed up as a td pass…….if that’s not a garbage time stat, I’m not sure what is. Maybe we can call it a “ stat when the other team is mathematically eliminated and has given up ”.

We better have learned how to contain the QB after Daniel Jones ran all over us. Fields is faster and stronger and ran a bunch last week.

I worry that the Bears will come out running the ball on every play and just grinding it into the end zone. The Cowboys have to stop them on 1st down and force them into 3rd and long situations. They they will get sacks.

I am hoping the Cowboys make some breaks early to put some scores on the board and force the Bears to throw to stay in the game. What we do not want is a close game with the Bears getting the football back with about 5 minutes to play. My nightmare is they run the ball 12 consecutive times to get it in the end zone with little time remaining.

People need to understand most offensive lines tend to be good at one thing and if they're average at the other one you have yourself an elite offensive line.

Anyone worried about this game?

I'm not treating the Bears like dogtrash, but they allow a league high amount of sacks while we lead in sacks.

Patriots got 4 sacks on them, and got badly beat. Tho they shot themselves in the foot a lot, while I can't see us doing that to the excess the Patriots did. I think defense should get 4 or 5 sacks, and Parsons (if he plays) should dominate this awful line otherwise it's a disappointment for him. 6 out of 8 of his sacks this year were either in garbage time, against a back up line, or the Bengals.

Thoughts?

Im going to be honest, this game scares me in a weird way. I can't explain it, but....

Don’t take this game lightly. A few additions on the line and Chicago is the next Philly, and Fields is more athletic than Hurts. Tampa and Fournette made us look like amateurs and everyone else was able to beat them, and stop their run game. I’m still nervous even with our new 2 gap DT because of how strong the Bears have run the ball this year. Our pass rush is lethal but only works when we can stop them early and get the lead. We have a weak passing game thus far and Chicago has the right recipe to quickly get us behind like Philly. Just don’t need to see another 3 INT collapse and we will hang. I also look forward to seeing what Pollard can do with one game given the entire workload and I think Dak will be less rusty.

I don't think we'll see Fields in the pocket much.

And garbage stats are also used to prop up their own players and team with an agenda...this is not a one way street.

For example, check out Brady's garbage stats throughout his years in the NFL.

The Lions had plenty of time to game plan for the Cowboys. They played other teams tight for long periods. Their record does not reflect how they have played in segments of their games.

The garbage time narrative is garbage for both sides of the ball. The last minute of a blowout game in basketball is garbage time.

In the NFL they don’t stop playing.

I can't even name an offensive player that they have besides Fields, and he isn't a good QB in my opinion, but that's probably more because I'm ignorant on the Bears roster. Why should it be hard for the defense?
Not even their two running backs?

We need to blitz the gaps and get straight to the qb. They will rpo us all day. Can not let him start getting loose. Will be a mess. Last game the qb had 84 yards rushing. Stop it early and we need to score early and often. Make them need to throw..

There is no such thing as garbage stats.
You play who is on your schedule for 60 minutes.

Garbage stats myth are for those with agendas against their own players and team.
Garbage stats are 42-0 at half time and leaving your starters in especially in the 4th quarter.

They switched to more of an Eagles type of offense last week. Stop the run and force them to pass and pass protect is the key.
