Jerry stating that he wants people who want to be there is comedy. Couldn't Big Mike be saying he wants to be somewhere that he is wanted?

After 3 straight playoff appearances, the Cowboys Owner/GM tells the media after a blowout win against the Commanders right before a WC game against the Packers when asked about McCarthy's contract..."We'll see how each game goes in the playoffs."

He didn't say..."We are focused on the playoff game against the Packers next week at home. I'm not discussing contracts or anything not related to football and the playoff game against the Packers. Once the season is over then we can discuss non-football related maters." No, not Jerry. That wouldn't bring the headlines he would like. Although, it definitely would have made headlines that Jerry appears focused on just football.

Once that statement was uttered, then the lame duck status without any offseason help for the roster, if I was McCarthy, I'd want to be somewhere that I'm wanted.

Go interview Big Mike. The Bears won't be the only ones that seek an interview.

Ehhhh, teams that looked unprepared or got blown off the field early or made a ton of mistakes are his fault.

We got smoked by GB last January. That GB team was good but not great and certainly not way more talented than we were. We got smoked because we were unprepared and once again made a ton of mistakes in a big game. That's on McCarthy (in fairness, it wasn't all his fault as Dak spit the bit again too).
I’m not at all trying to defend McCarthy and I don’t care if they bring him back or not, but…

The DT room has been awful, and they were playing safeties at LB. I read somewhere that Quinn wanted Wagner, Stephen wanted Clarke. One example.

You’ve got a front office, a head coach/scheme, and QB play. If any one of them decide to not hold up their end it’s not going to end well. Need it all, plus some breaks.

Just saying, I don’t think you can blame any particular one over the other definitively, but March (front office role) happens before everyone else gets their turn to fail.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when asked last night about the possibility of another team wanting to talk to Mike McCarthy:

“Then I would say, ‘Go talk.’ I really would. Go talk. I just let (Ezekiel Elliott) do that. That’s not healthy to have somebody around that wants to be someplace else.”

Bill Callahans head just exploded and Tony spagnolo just rolled over in his grave (may he rest in peace)

This just shows what an a** backwards mess the Cowboys are. When was the last time this happened to another coach in the NFL?
I don’t disagree that the cowboys are a mess but it’s actually kind of shred although aggressive. They literally can’t stop him from interviewing else and running up the price for him if they want him back

They can interview him Jan 14th without needing permission.
And they have aske dot interview like 5 guys already.

Chicago is wild.

But good. Glad someone is asking and forcing Jerry's hand.
I am becoming a Kendrick Lamar level hater for how he has handled this crap the last 12+ months.
Bears are being thorough as they should. As we should as well.
