Dez and Williams are the future. Austin is gone. Harris and Beasley are slot guys. We will need to find a backup WR with size to groom at the bottom of the depth chart.

Yeah this is why I mentioned it, if we do indeed cut Miles, I expect another WR to be brought probably during the draft......its just too important in this league to have weapons.

Beasley has was surpassed my expectations. Last year during preseason I wasn't even sure if he would make the team. When he did, I expected he would be a decent special teams player and occasional extra WR. But the dude's really exploded onto the scene, catching almost everything thrown to him and picking up first downs. He was a real find.

let's not forget that Murray was also a viable target for Romo...having this many weapons is crucial to a successful offense, if you can block for the QB...recently, they have blocked well) since Waters has started)

He seems to avoids taking big hits or at least I can't recall any from this season.

He runs a lot of a short outs and just gets hard shoves but he knows how to take the hit too. He goes with it. He doesn't try to become an irresistible force.
He goes sliding 5 yards a lot.
Very strange but at least he doesn't tweak a hammy after 1 hard sprint.

God bless the kid.

TWill was the Austin replacement. That's why dropping down and adding a pick was so key. Escobar was the Witten replacement in a few years as well ---as blasphemous as that is to say.
We may shoot for another guy if the value is right but I doubt it's early. Too many other holes and we NEED guys who can play for cheaper than guys they replace.. i.e. Ratliff/Spencer.

They like Beasley and Harris and have Benford behind them who has impressed coaches at times.

Guess your thinking Beasley/Harris as the 3rd WR if Miles is gone, while I'm saying someone with more upside in that spot. Granted I don't think it will be a high pick, but a 3rd-5th rounder could easily go to a WR to fill this role. Heck, on this team with holes everywhere, we still could go BPA in the next draft at any position and be able to justify the pick.....just like last year.

Tim Benford and Jamar Newsome are no real threats to make the final 53 yet so cutting Austin necessitates drafting a WR again next April.

We have a good OL. We have pretty good WRs. Still we dont play to our strengths (eg S01, S11) but dink and dunk.

Our offense playcalling and gameplans try to fit what other defenses give us instead of having some self confidence and dictating our style of offense to other defenses.
Our offensive gamecallers are more frightend of failure then having self confidence to establish their own identity. So we tend to play good if we need to but play medicore if other teams are.

I hate to watch this SH/T week in and week out!

Start playing some ball with some balls. I dont care if we lose eventually.

On another board they talked about trading Austin. The general consensus was that he was untradeable because of his big contract and injury issues and that it would be a stretch even to get a 6th for him. I wish there were some way we could trade him for a D-lineman who can help us, but that's probably not realistic.

Williams has stepped up. Had a bad start - but clearly has taken what the veterans like Romo and Dez have had to say to heart. Seems like this kid is always listening - which is good.
