Lets see here, an UDFA throws himself under the bus to protect the high-paid, veteran, face-of-the-franchise QB. The same QB who the UDFA's career depends upon.

A HOF, 3x SB winning QB and a SB winning coach say the QB screwed up.

Who do you believe?

When did Aikman say the QB screwed up?

didnt see this elsewhere, so if repost, my bad.

That's called falling on the grenade. We've seen a number of teammates do that for Romo over the years. Witten did it covering for Romo on a horrible interception he threw to seal our fate against Pittsburgh in the bitter cold a few years ago. As was pointed out in the telecast. He cut the route off and sat because the corner was out there waiting on the play.

I would think the Cowboys constantly covering Romo's back would make it obvious what's gone on with him the last 7 years. Immense talent, prone to impulsive mistakes, just as Parcells identified with Romo from the start.

For his part, Romo didn't place blame:

“He ended up cutting his route off, and I threw it as if he was continuing to go to the sideline,” Romo said. “So we’ll get that right. We’ll go back and assess the whole process and get it right.”
