Beasley = Tougher version of Terry Glenn?

I don't claim to be an expert in comparing players, but Glenn's athleticism and explosiveness are more reminiscent of Miles Austin if the latter had decent hands.

I think a healthy Austin did more with short passes than Glenn ever did. Austin is much better at breaking tackles and running with the ball than Glenn.

I really like Beasley but Glenn was a deep threat. That is not Beasley's game.

Nor should it be. Beasley is a chain mover and a drive extender, and needs to be utilized to the max. Our defense would love that!

Very good points, but my own point was simply to suggest that of the receivers on our current roster, Glenn compares better with Austin than Beasley.

No.

I really like Beasley. I think he's a heckuva player.

But Glenn had some serious deep speed and in his prime, some out of this world quickness. He could run a slant or a crossing pattern that was absolutely electrifying in his prime. If the corner tried to take that away, he could burn him badly with a deep fade.
