Beasley's injury(s)

Keep in mind that Garrett is very cautious about injuries, especially in the preseason.

I think Garrett figured out during the Miles Austin years that he should double the amount of time the trainers recommed for the player to be limited.

Ha, well I hope Miles wasn't the bar he set for injuries.

I'm not sure Thompson makes the team even if healthy. As long as Tavon Austin is healthy, I doubt Thompson plays much.
I would say that would be a mistake. There are no real WR on this team that can challenge deep, Tavon is not even a poor mans DJax, yes he has skills when gets the ball but he is more elusive, faster version of Beasley nothing more. He would have to be open b a country mile to come down with deep ball his lack of height limits him on deep balls. Your hope is he catches the ball 10 yards beyond the LOS and can make guys miss and he can outrun them.

I honestly wish we would have kept Switzer.
He's bigger, faster and has the size to be kept in on running plays.
I honestly think he could have been our edelman.
Our FO has a bad habit of trading good players that sit behind someone to appease the player ahead of them.

Tavon Austin has been running more deep and intermediate routes in practice than short routes.

Linehan clearly stated that Austin is not limited to short routes or playing the slot.

In his offense I am sure. Unless a DB falls or makes a mistake I do not see how he would be effective down field considering he has been a RB for most of his life. What good is speed if he has to be open by a lot.

1) Hurns will likely primarily play outside

2) Beasley and Thompson have both been in the league since 2012, but Beasley has more than 2.5x the yards, 3.2x the receptions, and 5x the TD. The only thing Thompson has on Beasley is straight-line speed, and if that’s what we’re talking about, Austin has more than both of them...

3) Yet, despite that, Beasley has 1,000 more yards and 2x as many TDs Austin, and averages more yards per reception.

So far in their careers, the only WR you listed who comes close to Beasley statistically is Hurns.

DT was in QB hell and if you are comparing the skill level of Beasley to Austin I feel sorry for you.

I really hated to hear about Beasley getting a groin injury again. They can be a curse that follows a player indefinitely. Here's hoping this won't apply to him. The fact that it happened last year and again now is somewhat alarming, though. I'm sure the staff will err on the side of caution.
