Beating Washington

Believe me, it matters to the Saints. They are still mathematically alive.

good, I don't expect a blowout either way.

Why are people overlooking the Saints. They could kill us.

Because it doesn't matter if the fans over look or dont over look anyone, we're fans.

It's a message board, and people are just discussing what it will take for our boys to smash the skins when the time comes. The game could be for the division, or we could be screwed, but the fans have no bearing on the outcomes either way.

This but not only that, we match up better with the saints then we do the skins. For one thing, Brees isn't go out of the pocket much unlike RG3.

In games where RG3 has thrown 28 times or more:

1 Win (by 2 points against Tampa Bay)
5 Losses

A shootout almost certainly is in our favor.

The thing you should note is that of those 5 losses you mention, 4 were games that Pierre Garcon did not play in. He's a big part of their offense and in the 8 games he's played in the Commanders are 7-1.

But we are 3-3 when Romo throws more than 40 passes, and we are 3-0 in games where he throws less than 30 passes. We are also 8-6 on games played on days that end with a "y"....
These numbers are always misleading. You throw more when behind and less when ahead. Of course you have a worse record in games where you throw a ton. It's the corollary of teams having a better record when they run a lot: you don't win because you're running, you run because you're winning.

We may be depleted, but we can play the spoiler. I say we'll realistically lose, but will be wooping it up if they pull it off!
Your sig image is righteous.

I would assume it's because you can look at the playoff seeding, and bottomline you beat us you are in. You lose to us (if we beat the Eagles) and you are out. The Saints game for all intents and purposes is more about putting an end to the Saints tiniest glimmer, than it is about obtaining a better position for your playoff chances.

Personally I just don't see a win. If healthy, I would, our injuries play right into their strengths.

Gotta pressure Breese, but given the middle of our line and backers, injury, they might run it with all those backs. That one kid with the dreds is a beast.

They got 14 easy points off of major busted coverages.
I agree that if he has to throw a lot, they are in trouble.
But with Murray and with the team gelling, I feel fairly good that we can beat them straight up.

Earlier, when I ranked our final 4 games in difficulty (hardest at top) I said
at Cincy
Pitt
NO
a Wash

They're all really about equally tough though....especially now that New Orleans got re-energized by the rulings and seems to have some fight left.

So we're just going to pretend like we don't play the best quarterback in the league this week lol?

maybe 4th or 5th, not best

We have to make them throw the ball. Key to the game is to turn it into a shootout.

We need to come into that game, spread them out, and start throwing the ball down the field.

The strength of the Commanders comes from the threat to run the ball, that being said they aren't great at defending the pass, and they aren't great at passing the ball.

Actually, I think you might be a little off here, but in ways that might work in your favor. The Commanders rush defense is ranked #6 overall, but that is somewhat a function of our secondary being bad, so teams don't bother to run on us as much. You might have some success on the ground.

Turning it around, I think you underestimate the Skins ability to pass the ball. Sure, the Skins are ranked just 18th in passing, but when you have the #1 rushing attack in the league, you don't have to pass as much. RG3 has the second highest passer rating in the NFL.

This is where opponents try to claim that he barely throws the ball downfield. I think that misconception comes from our first game against New Orleans where he opened up with something like six straight screens. In reality, the Commanders lead the league in yards per pass attempt. Some of it is a function of getting yards after the catch, but why fault an offense or quarterback for putting his receivers in a position to make plays?

There are three teams sitting tied at #11 in the league in big pass plays (25+ yards) with 29 on the season. One of them is Washington...another is Dallas. Your team saw it on Thanksgiving, three of our four TD passes were longer than 25 yards.

I don't think a shootout favors you nearly as much as you think. Consequently, I think your team might have more success running the ball than the stats would indicate. Should be a great game either way, of course I personally hope it's a repeat of Thanksgiving minus the attempted comeback on your part.

And like wise when you have the #1 rushing attack in the league, the passing is quite a bit easier and more productive. It's the same reason Tony's numbers and efficiency are that much better since Murray has been back. Even though his numbers are not in the range of Morris' he is a big time threat in the back field, which sells playaction and keeps defenses honest. Something Tony did not benefit from with Felix Jones starting.

I'd say at least 3rd best right now. Behind Brady and P. Manning. Let's show some killer instinct and step on their throats and suffocate their annorexic playoff hopes.

The edges are key. Take the edge away and thats it.

You can name 4 qb's better than Brees? Even in a year where he's "struggling" he still has 36 Touchdowns with 2 games to go lol.
