Beating Washington

YOUR house has had a pathetic fan support and we have had a lot of success there so don't come here like your 4skins have been a powerhouse at home.

Dallas doesn't exactly have the best HFA in the NFL either. Washington suffers from being an area full of transplants throughout the USA with too big of a stadium to avoid a large portion of opposing fans from getting tickets (something Dallas also shares).

Now RFK...I wish I was old enough to have gone to a game there.

What is the Cowboys record at Fedex? :D
9-6 at Fed Ex.

14-14 at RFK.

0-1 at Griffith Stadium.

I can tell you our record in every single stadium we have ever played in. Because I'm very sick. :)

Yes you are, but in a very good way, friend.

You have THE NERVE to talk about fan support. How many Bears fans showed up for that beat down in Jerry's World? I also recall seeing more than a couple Commander fans in attendance for Thanksgiving Day. Your stadium is like a shopping mall as of late.....everyone is welcomed, LoL. Even Troy Aikman thinks that Jerry's World is more of a place to be seen and not necessarily to watch a football game.

Only 9-6?

We did own them there for a nice run. I had great fun with other Cowboys fans calling it our house for quite a few years.

The Cowboys record at Fed Ex Field in the RG3 era is 0-0......remember that buddy!

I see 1-0 in the real near future! And you remember you heard it here buddy!

That would be 1 win for the Cowboys in the RG3 era and 0 wins for RG3! :starspin

We need to worry about beating the Saints that's the game we should be concerned about right now. Not good to think ahead.

Commanders on Thanksgiving vs the Cowboys prior to this year

0-6

RG3 is a destroyer of streaks. Its happened all season long.

Just a quick look at the futile streaks snapped this season

Commanders Streaks Snapped:
1. First ever win against Cowboys on Thanksgiving (previously 0-6)
2. Commanders win first set of consecutive games since the first two games of the 2011 season
3. Commanders win first game against a rookie QB since 2006 (lost previous 8)
4. Commanders win consecutive divisional games for first time since (weeks 1 and 4 of) 2010
5. Commanders win first home game in a year vs. Vikings (8-game losing streak snapped)
6. Commanders scored their most points in team history on Thanksgiving Day (38; previous was 23)
7. Commanders win first game in new Texas Stadium
8. Commanders first MNF win at home since 1997
9. First time beating the Giants on MNF since 1985
10. Commanders first time beating all three divisional opponents at least once in the year since 2007
11. Commanders first time winning three consecutive games against divisional opponents since 2005
12. Commanders 186 yards in the first quarter is the most by any team so far this season
13. Six game losing streak to AFC teams is snapped (beat Baltimore)
14. Commanders first pair of fourth-quarter comeback wins since 1989
15. Commanders became first time since the 1970 merger to have two different rookie quaterbacks lead fourth-quarter comebacks in the same season

Most didn't see us beating the Bengals or the Steelers, But here we are.

I expected us to beat the Bengals, not because we are better, but we were in a more desperate situation.

But I will admit, I didn't expect us to beat Pittsburgh.

I'm not writing us off, just I don't see it

That's not a very complete team in their own right. We should have the advantage on a neutral field. I think the primary thing they've got going for them is being at home with everything on the line. We can readily win that game.

I agree, but their strength's play into our weakneses. They excell at running the ball, and we have struggled to stop it. And a ton of their big plays come off play action and option looks, and I don't have faith in our 3rd and 4th string ILBs ability to stop it consistently.

Give your team some credit; it's not just RG3.

Certainly, this has turned into a terrific young team, considering the terrible injuries, and Mara's nonsense during the offseason. Guys like Alfred Morris, Kai Forbath, Trent Williams, Rob Jackson, Dyrel Young, Pierre Garcon, Kirk Cousins are simply ballin out every week. The defense has somehow turned it around from the early season disaster and is forcing turnovers left and right.

RG3 has been a culture changer though, a leader, the man they rally behind.

In the past the Commanders blow a 25 point lead on Thanksgiving and it goes into Commanders-Cowboys lore like Clint Longley.

This year, when the noose tightened, he calmly lead the Commanders down field for a FG that took time off the clock and put the game out of reach.

It really is a once in a generation type thing that your franchise is gifted a game changer. RG3 has been it.

Damn right I do. You need to be reminded that this is a Cowboys forum and I can talk all I want about this team, or any other team, regardless if it makes sense or not. You have 38 posts, that's 37 more posts then would have been allowed over at ES if I were to go on there and talk some smack.

Just thought about this today - if your game was at 4 PM and you KNEW the Giants had lost to the Ravens in the 1 PM game - would you rest any key starters or battered players being that the game in week 17 would definitely be for the division?

Just really hoping for no more major injuries to either side before the showdown that really matters.

Even if the Giants played and lost Saturday, I would keep the pettle down in a meaningless game against the Saints.
