Unfortunately the coaches took too long to pull starters that couldn't physically get the job done and get the ground game going.

$60 large ones limits the ability to biuld a run game...Rush showed we could have one at a miniscule cost. We all know what happens when you advertise a run game, D stacks the box and forces the QB to throw. Sounds simple, but in the situation this team is in, it's not
How 60M does that when you had 23M on the cap to spend?

Like I said $60 large ones have limited our ability to spend, not even mentioned the contract for 88. Fact is, Jerry waited, which has steamrolled everything else. Further to my point ithough s even if the contract was done earlier, it still is a waste of money...no mater when it was signed. There are a couple of teams in the playoffs who aren't paying that kind of money for younger QB's who had magical seasons, and with Micah coming due, this team is handcuffed to build the type of offense we are talking about
Philly top 6 contracts average 193M
Detroit top 6 contracts average 170M
Cowboys top 6 contracts average 163M

It's not a cap or contract issue.

I have been saying this FOREVER... Dak is hands down better in run first, play action heavy approaches, his numbers don't lie. This has to be a focal of the offense. Money doesn't increase skillset, so money doesn't justify putting him in situations that aren't geared towards his strengths. Which is how people think, he makes the most so he should be able to throw more. NO, he makes the most bc of the market and bc of Dallas horrible negotiations but that doesnt mean keep putting him in shotgun. You asked for the worse version of him. He can do it on occasions but not every game. Focus on OL, RB and phsyicality and play calling,

A good run game and balanced offense is the key ingredient to the success of any team. If you can't do it consistently you have no chance and has to be a focus for Fallas moving forward.

Absolutely spot on!!!

Making Dak a better QB isn't rocket science stuff. But the Cowboys refuse. Very frustrating.
big dog---makes me wonder if Jerrah has more influence on coaching schemes then one may realize......we have had teams that were super bowl worthy or at least NFC champ game

worthy....several times over on latter....when a team just falls apart come playoff time it always falls on coaching....they said in 1992 cowboys were still a year behind going to super

bowl but having Jimmy as HC proved that wrong......Jerry just cannot give up power...which in the end makes our team weak....just my lowly opinion

Does Dak every line up under the center? Seem to me that is so rare in Dallas is looks weird when he does it! If course they need to get better at running the football, and running more often.

But is it right that we ask Jerry to order the head coach to line the QB under center and run more? Isn't that one of the things we criticize Jerry for doing? Don't we want Jerry to step away?
If MM doesn't emphasize running teh football after 5 years, then maybe Jerry should hire a coach who does emphasize running the football more.

I think we all knew this. The less Dak the better. The ability to run the ball well and conversely stop the run is always the answer.

There is not much hope for Dak! A running game with play action might help a little but in the playoffs he will be forced to make a certain amount of plays with his arm and that's just not happening. Dak is done and the rest of the NFL knows it.

Definitely, concentrate on O-Line and yes he needs the run game (don't worry fellow Dak Skeptic's there's a but) and yes a combination of run first and an O-Line that run blocks (and don't forget he's going to need pass protection as I doubt he's scrambling, or getting out of the profit this side of retirement).....
.....but, .....what happens when we're trailing. Example -GB play-off game, the running game was working ok, but for some reason Dak goes pass happy (possibly: anxiety, impatience and composure to get on with it, as he knows his weakness).. Now the answer back to this is going to be, we need to improve the Defense.....
.....add in the WR2 need and we come full circle = DAK NEEDS TOO MUCH TO SUCCEED.

again, ask Jerry those are his words. We are poor, no cap money
jerry, the master snake oil salesman.
the think about him is, that he speaks to the casual and fringe fans, who have no idea about the cap, don't get to the details, love the fandom and the experience more so than the championships.
us die hards, get tired of the BS he spews. and its been increasing and the media is calling him out on it.

Most all QBs are more effective with a robust running game and play action. This isn’t something unique to Dallas or Dak. It’s a universal football truth.

You’re right, the run first, play action game is not only Dak’s bread and butter, but is the successful formula for many top QBs, which made not getting Henry so frustrating. No effective play action, no effective offense. It’s really that simple, and every stat and metric proves it.
