It’s not your money.
I guess I can put you down as a "the salary cap isn't real" guy. For the record you can put me down as a "good players on good contracts is good, bad players on bad contracts is bad" guy. Please don't tell me you are coming in with "the earth is flat" next.

Fair point but Zeke’s deal was almost done. And we had to hold on to him at least a year longer than we should have because of cap implications.

Amari had an out year in his contract and renegotiated with the Browns so that point isn’t really relevant.

If Stephen can get creative with Diggs contract so we can get out after a couple years with minimal cap hit I’m game. Otherwise screw that, Diggs could bust hard after getting paid.
It is relevant though….all of these contracts have an out in them. Coopers did too. D Laws did too. La’el Collins, Jaylons….they are all getting from under these deals….it’s high exaggerated these moves are killing them or stopping them from signing people.

A great team Gm would trade both Micah could fetch 3 first round picks and save 30. Mil plus a year on the so so essentially 6 players you could have for him.

I think the cap is real I just don’t think it’s the hinderance that guys like you and Cap Boy think. If they fail guess what? I have an out after year 3…..

We're all afraid for Jerry to sign Diggs and Parsons because we want to make sure there is enough money for Daks next contract.

I just don't really care anymore. Dak has ruined the hope I've had for this team winning anything. Give Parsons QB money. I could care less if Diggs gets 25 mil a season. Might as well over pay everyone. I'm looking for a free Dak jersey I can turn into a doormat at my local pub.
The y’all are idiots if you are worried about Daks contract….just foolish.

When assessing Parsons's value you have to take into consideration the effect he has on the opposing offense. He makes them change their game plan. QBs feel his pressure and get rid of the ball much more quickly than they might want to. He requires double and triple teams which limits what teams can do against the Cowboys. It is no accident that the Cowboys defense got really good when Parsons was drafted. While he may not make as many plays, his presence on the field allows others to make plays. He will make his plays but his value goes way beyond that.

Diggs is an enigma. He shuts down the best receivers in the league but allows a lot of big plays. If he took the same approach he does with WRs like Justin Jefferson he would excel in coverage but when it is not Jefferson, or someone like him, he gets a little too loose and takes too many chances. The question is, can the Cowboys afford to pay Dak $55 million, Parsons $30 million and Diggs $20 million, along with their offensive line, CeeDee and everyone else?

This is why I think Dallas needs to start preparing for life without Dak now. If he wants $55 million when he has not earned his $40 million, it will hamper the Cowboys elsewhere, even if the CAP increases to $256 million in 2024, as projected.

Started in his last game of the 21 season when he announced he should be on the best offensive player and Shanahan showed him if that was all the Cowboys D had to bring, that was not enough.

One defender is never enough and we saw that with Deion Sanders in ATL, the best D player on the team and accomplished little.

However, surround him with players like the Niners and Cowboys could and he gets rings.

Tell you what, call up Jerry, tell him you bought a few jerseys, maybe went to a game or 2 and that you would like a say on player contracts, the draft, team advertising, etc. Let me know how that goes.
So if people stopped going to games and stopped buying merchandise how would that go?

People love to bring up the lack of playoff success over the last 25-plus years.

But then don't want to pay All-Pro players drafted and developed by the team. Strange.

I would imagine the economy as a whole would be in major trouble considering how many jobs and industries have connections to the sport.

Not to mention Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays would be awfully boring and my turkey day would be ruined.

I'm not resigning anyone unless they are 18, never had a paper cut and agree to a 10 year rookie scale contract.

Daks contract becomes a problem when you factor in his play! 12 points against SF and 17 points the year before against SF with only 7 in the first 3 quarters. Daks not playing up to his contract. Dak is a choker!!

Dont resign #11? what? you got lucky as hell he is who he is and how you drafted him.
Diggs has talent but he really showed his arss in that playoff game, try and fail, ok it happens, business desicions in a playoff game..... not so much. I would not be pissed if they extend him nor would i be unhappy if they got good value in a trade for him either.

Ok. Let’s trade both for future draft picks.

Whose next? Let’s trade Tyler after this season.

I also suggest that we trade our top two picks in this weeks draft as soon as they look like they are going to be above average.

Even better, let’s just trade all future first and second round picks for lower round picks and just have an entire roster of average players on rookie deals.
You have lost your chance to ever work in the FO.
