There will be no need to "tank". What you're seeing is the beginnings of a colossal collapse.

Even tanking the Jones clan wouldn't even put a proper even decent caliber championship team. It's doomed fellas. Just embrace it and find other enjoyment out of life. We aren't sniffing another title EVER.

Even a tank won't help us.

We won't sign anybody in the offseason and the few draft picks we have won't even cover the gaps in the roster let alone save the day. We will need starters at DT, DE, WR, RB, S, LB, G/C etc.

A competent franchise would use the opportunity to rebuild. We can't even do that.

Jerry and spawn aren’t smart enough to pull off a soft rebuild while preparing to draft Arch in a few years. Manning will come to the NFL when Dak is at or nearing the end of his contract.

I would start by loading up both lines, get a RB in here by 2026 and try to stock up some draft capital for when he does enter the draft. Move up to #1 by any means necessary while having the team properly prepared to battle with both lines and a running game ready to roll.

This takes thought and foresight, something the Joneses lack. I am confident in saying that Dallas will be ill-prepared at QB when Dak is done.

Honestly I think Jeanty should be the first pick. He is shifty enough to account for some blocking on his own. Then, we should go NT round 2. The smart move would be to start trading.

I'd move heaven & earth for Cam Ward.

Trade Micah. Trade Diggs. Trade Cooks. Unload anything of veteran value @ all.

Parlay all for pick #1. What can be worse than what we're watching right now? An AT BEST mediocre football team that has zero chance of a title. Zero.

0.00.

We have no running game or ability to stop the run. What I'm planning on writing tomorrow involves a plan to get the team ready for Manning. Starting with Jeanty and a NT.

the tank started right when they signed dak

there is no winning a thing paying a big fat bum $60,000,000 a year
Especially when it's on his terms. The real killer is the 4 years, that was never going to give enough restructure space (when taking into account the outstanding $40m)......especially as he's good, but always seems to need money spent on weapons and protection (let alone a Defense).

Well, and we shouldn't restructure him. If we are smart, we can get our of his deal as a 1 June cut in 2027 for minimal cap hit and get a lot of cap space. Plus, Manning will probably be available in 2026. So, we could sit him for a year behind Dak to ease him in and say goodbye to Dak as a 1 June cut that following offseason.

However, that means tanking in 2024 and 2025 when we've just allocated over $90m per on two players?

Not necessarily, depends on the draft. And, even if that's the case, at least we should be competitive by 2026.
The problem is that we wont be able to draft for 'final pieces'. In the next two year's we're going to need to replace a number of starters......Tank, Bland, Lewis, Osa, both Safeties, an MLB (plus Micah's contract), Tyler (who'll want LT kind of money), Martin, RB x2, WR (possibly two, inc a WR2), possibly a TE1.
That's a lot to draft in two years, especially when FA's pretty much out of the question, when we compare our available CAP to other teams.

It's going to be same 'ole, especially as Jerry's incapable of using the trade market.

Well, yes probably, but this is where it's probably time to start trading some of those pieces away and seeing what we can get for them. If we can't pay them, then trading them seems to be the right decision.

But Jerry trades away for less than the FA Compensation. I cant see anyone that's worth trading and would bring back a haul (other than Micah). We are a mess: too many starting FA's, Two Colossal contracts (which arent playing at game changing level), restricted CAP (so we cant compete with other teams) and Jerry who's got no idea (especially) when it comes to trading.

The problem is the strategy of signing Dak (especially to 4 years, that's just Dak preferring money to having a winning team around him) and CeeDee when we're closer to being sellers, rather than buyers.......we just have holes throughout the organization.
