But Jerry trades away for less than the FA Compensation. I cant see anyone that's worth trading and would bring back a haul (other than Micah). We are a mess: too many starting FA's, Two Colossal contracts (which arent playing at game changing level), restricted CAP (so we cant compete with other teams) and Jerry who's got no idea (especially) when it comes to trading.

The problem is the strategy of signing Dak (especially to 4 years, that's just Dak preferring money to having a winning team around him) and CeeDee when we're closer to being sellers, rather than buyers.......we just have holes throughout the organization.

Thats true. I just mean, if we do it the right way, there's a chance we can be competitive quickly. Unfortunately, our ownership means it probably won't happen that way.

I actually am starting to believe that Jerry is positioning the team to be able to draft Arch Manning in 3 years...
Yeah…don’t think you can sell me on the theory that 82 year old Jerry Jones is playing long-term 4D chess

There's only Micah that would garner a 1st Rd pick (and we've got the issue of Jerry negotiating the deal). I dont even think Tyler would get a 1st unless a team loses their LT. Even then I doubt Jerry gets it done.

I dont think we've got the young controllable pieces to do a Herschel.

The problem is that a true tank means a rebuild and Jerry showed with Dak and CeeDee that he has no interest in that.

Picking near the top of each round in a single year isn’t going to change anything. The team has nowhere near the talent to bounce back after a single year of good picks.

It sucks, but we’re in for another multi-year stretch year stretch mediocrity.

Yep, you dont Tank straight after giving top contracts to your QB and WR1........when the Line foundations are so poor......well run teams dont.

It appears to me that Jerry and some other's thought Dak/CeeDee could carry the team.....now they are untouchable, we just have to sit and take it (unfortunately).

I think DLaw probably could generate a second. So, between those two, we could start a rebuild that way.

If that was the case they would be trading guys that are due for a big contract instead of extending them.

The Dak contract right now is looking like another colossal mistake by Jerry. Just like zekes first big extension when he was already on the decline.

Micah's going to reset the market in the off-season, regardless of how he or the team play the remainder of the season. That's the problem with Jerry. He always thinks his guys are the right guys.

It's time. I know Jerry is going to spin this as a morale victory, but our season was on the line tonight. Especially with the schedule we have coming up. I'll dive more into this Tuesday, but the tank needs to begin.
begin the tank? we are already tanking. no need to begin anything. this team will only win 2 more games and even those maybe in question.

I didn't realise that Dlaw was injured as badly as it turns out. I'm thinking someone is bound to need pass rush, so we could take advantage of that.
Mid season trades are really dependent on 4 things:

1. Productivity of the player - Even before his injury, he had a 56 PFF grade this year, a stark contrast to what you’d normally expect

2. Availability - Dude is injured

3. Contract the player is on - Demarcus is on a 10m base salary season and then his contract voids after this year. So he is a mildly expensive rent a player

4. Age - he is 32 years old

Christian McCaffrey went from Carolina to SF for a 2. Montez Sweat went to Chicago for a 2. Tyreek Hill went to Miami for a 2. Brian Burns went to the Giants for a 2.

Demarcus Lawrence is an aging, injured, rent a player who is having a down year. For a 2nd round pick, a team would need to be trading for an every down impact starter who has a long term future with the team. What contending organizations right now need Demarcus Lawrence starting at DE for them so badly that they’d give up more than a 4?

Just one comes to mind: The Dallas Cowboys.

Good point, not to mention Jerry's negotiating skills are.... lackluster to say the least.

Problem is, Jerry and Cap Boy can't even tank right. You don't spend all your money on a bum and then lose; you save all your money and trade whoever you can for picks and then lose. Jerry has no interest in rebuilding or winning. The only thing making him itch in his Depends will be the sag in ratings.

I'll preface my comment by saying that I do not wish ill will on anyone.
Now that we have that out of the way, I'm hoping that in 3 years, this team has a new man in charge that's willing to lean on others for help with ALL football decisions.
