Yeah im forgetting a year in there somehow.

Did they make the playoffs his rookie year?

I remember they wrecked us on Thanksgiving one year.. I thought that was his rookie year.

Edit: I think I remember now because Garcon got knocked out his first year, had a big 2nd year with RG3, and was horrible last year.

Awesome rookie year, bad sophomore year, got benched by Shanny at the end.

Just throwin this out there but I would love to have RG3 as a backup here.

The guy is accurate when throwing downfield and still has mobility.

That organization screwed him over when they hired a west coast coach.

He would be perfect in this offense or any team that like to be more vertical with their routes.

I agreed, RG3 would be a great developmental project. I have a hard time believing the guy who knocked us from a playoff birth a few yrs. ago can not play the position. Two things about RG3,

1) Yes he needs to learn how to be ordinary, he's got the arm strength and accuracy to throw the ball well.

2) His attitude needs to improve.

Fired and traded. In that order!

Doubtful. While Gruden could be fired, after all, the current GM did not hire him it's unlikely that RG3 is traded. The skins are on the hook for 16.15 million at the beginning of the league year, so unless he is traded before the deadline in week 8 or so, they would have to release him to avoid paying that cost.

Problem is, I don't think this experience humbled him....at all

We he speaks... He sounds like a Cowboy fan playing for Washington lol.

He actually said he was a Broncos fan growing up. Considering he was born in 1990, he did kinda miss out on our SB runs and around the time he was 8, the Broncos were the bet team in the NFL.

While I agree with you and your reasoning. He is a waste of times handicapping and holding back the entire franchise.

Using word like "ordinary" he detests even saying it.

At this point, they are hoping that he can be a bus driver. THAT is crazy.

Not.
At.
All.

Makes no sense.
It's not funny at all

Heh heh... Lol

Here's some more.... No chance this works.

Why the hell would Gruden even take the job. With a high profile QB and players owner like Snyder, Gruden can only blame himself for stepping into a toxic environment. Its one thing to come in on his last year of his contract but to come in, in the middle he was just dumb.

Seattle maybe runs the read option 25% of the time, because teams are now putting licks on the QB.

Interesting, because the Commanders haven't run read option 25% of the time EVER.

I am sorry but this is what his fourth year and he still cannot make pro reads. I could really care less about camp. This not Gus Frerotte that came out of no where to surprise a coaching staff, this is kid that was supposed to be the savior of your franchise, one you mortgaged the future to get.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if he's truly made enough progress to convince you during the season...as if that's important. Regardless, he'll need to make a significant leap in development in order to avoid being benched this season. They won't take the chance of him playing late in the season, poorly, and then also potentially getting a severe injury which would guarantee him that 15mil next season.

He goes through his progressions like he's been showing everyone since the start of training camp.

4 years and he is now showing everyone he can through progressions in camp? Whoa.

Maybe next he can show he understands what 1,3, and 5 step drops are and why using the right one is important to his blocking? Or we need a few more years for that?

I find it hilarious that the Commanders used 3 first round and a second round pick (the most picks ever used for a QB mind you) for RGIII and in his fourth year in the league they are touting the fact that RGIII is STARTING to learn his read progression. Even worse, they asked him to be ordinary and perform the basics. that my friends is considered drafting failure. If RGIII is benched for the 3rd time in his career this year (which I fully expect he will), he will go down as the worst draft pick in the history of the NFL. The Skins so be able to add that honor to the signings of Hanesworth and Sanders as the worst FA signings of all time.

And to think skins fans had the audacity to make fun of Romo, an undrafted FA who happens to hold nearly every Cowboys passing record, second highest QB rating of all-time, has been top 10 in nearly every QB metric every year he started a majority of the games for that season. A career that skins fans could only dream that RGIII Would have.

Mentally, he is not there with the team concept. He is not truly buying in. It's still about him. If you read those articles you can see the chip on his shoulder is the wrong chip. The chip is about his coach.

That's bad.

Like it or not. You have Quincy Carter 2.0...
Year 4 coming up.... The end.

kool-aid.. you guys haz it.
first 9+ win season since 2009 and you guys are acting like you're the seahawks and are the class of the NFL.
While I will admit it was sickening to watch those disgusting blue stars get 12 wins, you guys are not as good going forward as you think you are.
As us Commanders fans know all too well, one (or several) unfortunate injuries can derail those hopes faster than you can say thanksgiving :)

When was your last 9+ wins season oh yeah the year you got a gimmick QB to run a Gimmick Offense that no one really runs anymore. Now you are putting that gimmick QB in an offense where he has to actually figure out who is open and pass it there.

We are the class of the NFC.

Gimmick? As in...?

Lol j/k

Do you remember last year, he was throwing a short pass to a wide open wide receiver and he threw it low, real low and the receiver looked at him like, "really? No pressure and I was wide open" I lmao

Don't you recall being corrected earlier that Seattle runs basically the same offense? Repeating fallacies doesn't turn them into truth.
