I like McClain (love SL), but I worry about him failing another drug test (does the next one equate to a one year suspension?), so vet min w/incentives is the best option if he decides he wants to re-up.

Looks like they have great rapport. Both median age, intelligent, smart, instinctive as hell LBs. I hope they're the backbone of our defense for the next 3 to 4 years.

We need to add a young freak LB to the mix but McLain's physicalness in the middle has really helped Lee stay healthy and he hasn't had any issues with that knee this season.

I would rather Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack be chattering to Lee.

He got burned in the NO game for the game winning TD after McClain kneed Lee in the head and made Hitchens sprain his ankle.

Otherwise he didn't get much PT. He still flashed some talent like you said.

Funny you brought that game up! My damn DVR was set but I didn't record an hour over and missed OT!!! So I only saw on replay!! I was onky like an hour behind because of kiddos and then at end of game right after we let NO tie it up, nada!

he might like a loaded performance contract where he could play when
he felt like it. Has it been suggested that his bi-polar? I think it has.

At this point he won't get more than an incentive laden deal anywhere. Especially a year removed from his previous suspension.

Why can't we do both and have the guy or McClain play the strong side and rotate with McClain on nickel downs and as a back up stud to the injury prone Lee on the weak side?

McClain is one positive test away from a year long suspension so isn't going to command big money. Plus that's not that big a need that I'm willing to spend a top 5 pick on a damn MLB. Rather trade back to the teens to do it or pick a franchise QB there.
