Being positive vs negative all the time

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, being positive is not about lying to yourself and being incredibly mean to others.
I’m not being “incredibly mean” to others. But many others are incredibly mean to us positive folks.

I support anyone’s right to express their opinions here as long as they are within the rules. This is a fan opinion forum, not a one size fits all rah-rah club.

The minute we start complaining about what other people say on here is -IN MY OPINION - missing the point. A forum is all about diversity of opinion.

As long as we don’t attack or demean each other, there are two good responses to opinions we disagree with or just don’t like seeing here:
  1. State WHY you disagree with the other person’s opinion by stating your own opinion. Disagreement is normal on an opinion forum. It’s what makes this place tick.
  2. Ignore it.
I believe the biggest waste of time on this great forum is to attack other fans for their opinions. Especially over what any of us think is “positive” or “negative”.

If someone wants to be positive all the time, that’s fine. But out respect for your fellow Cowboys fans I recommend not attacking them or demeaning them ever. Just disagree. That’s exactly how this place works best.

No one. Not a single soul on here has the right to decide what it means to be a “good Cowboys fan”.

If anyone wants to be “positive” around here, step 1 is to be more tolerant of other people’s opinions. That applies to all of us.

You can stay positive without pretending everything is fine. There's a difference between hope and blind optimism.

Being critical of the Cowboys isn't about wanting them to lose. It's about holding a franchise with enormous resources and expectations accountable. Fans have watched nearly three decades without reaching an NFC Championship Game. At some point, criticism isn't negativity, it's an honest reaction to the results.

Saying "negativity doesn't change the team" cuts both ways. Positivity doesn't change the record, the roster, or Jerry's decisions either. Neither mindset affects what happens on the field.

The idea that criticism "ruins the season" assumes fans can't enjoy football while recognizing flaws. Plenty of fans celebrate every win, cheer every Sunday, and still question coaching, roster moves, or front-office decisions.

Hope is great, but hope should be earned. Every offseason can't be "this is our year" regardless of the evidence. That's not optimism—it's refusing to learn from history.

The goal isn't to expect failure. The goal is to expect accountability. When the Cowboys consistently prove they can get over the playoff hump, they'll earn more optimism. Until then, skepticism is a reasonable response to 30 years of falling short.

I'll still watch every game. I'll still celebrate every win. But I'm not going to confuse loyalty with pretending the organization has met the standard it set for itself.
One of the best postings I have read on this site. Thank you.

You’re one of the always negative posters here so it’s understandable you’re triggered.
Dude, you cannot trigger anybody on here; we all know what you're up to. You talk about always being positive, yet 99% of your replies to others who don't smoke what you smoke are negative. You have an inability to be reasonable, and really have zero clue as to the difference between negative vs. critical. Nobody expects anything else from you, so your goal to trigger others is a dud

Being positive isn’t about pretending the Cowboys have been successful — it’s about protecting your sanity, your enjoyment, and your identity as a fan. Negativity feels “realistic,” but long‑term it drains you, narrows your perspective, and makes the whole experience miserable.

Being negative about the Cowboys doesn’t change the record, the roster, or Jerry’s decisions.
It just changes you — your mood, your enjoyment, your energy.

Positivity is the only mindset that gives you a return on investment:

• You enjoy the wins more
• You survive the losses easier
• You stay connected to the team without burning out

The always negative type think:
“If I expect failure, I can’t be disappointed.”

But here’s the truth:
They’re still disappointed — they just ruin the season in advance and they become bitter.

Positive fans get:

• Hope during the season
• Excitement during wins
• A buffer during losses

Negativity is just pre‑pain.

So that’s why I always preach, stay positive and go Cowboys.
Hate only hurts yourself Rocko-remember to live your own life and try not to live other’s lives for them. Take the lead in your own emotional well being and do not concern yourself with other people’s opinions. No one completely understands what the other person might be feeling. Best general advice is to enjoy the little things and don’t spend much time concerned with things you cannot control. And best not to preach-none of us is perfect.

This should literally be a topic to Sticky. Sadly, some on here will not tolerate differing opinions and look to blatantly "trigger" certain types of responses out of others. I have said 1.5 million times that it's okay to always be positive, and it's okay to be critical at times.....when others' goal is to troll your opinions, it 100% brings down the forum. I have no clue if anything you state is enforceable, but sadly, what most of us visit the site for gets dragged down daily by those that don't care about point 1 and it creates the reasonable ones in here to have a hard time achieving point 2

Positivity will always be better than being constantly negative. Negativity gets you held back in your career, isolates and narrows relationships, and imposes undue stress on oneself. Not that any one person can be positive all the time, but if you can't find some joy in an entertainment outlet like football I sincerely hope you can find some positives with family and life in general. Regardless who you're, the life you've lived, we all have things to be proud and grateful for.

Football is a hobby/side interest and I've always believed hobbies should largerly be enjoyable even if it doesn't work out how you had hoped all the time.

I’ll do what I think needs to be done thank you.

My favorite AI is watching ferocious animals slobber wet kisses all over their "previous owners"

Nothing like a Kodiak Bear playing hopscotch with its human friend

I think “ Black Rifle Coffee Co “ has a strong brew version called Kodiak . I recommend this coffee co .

I just default to what this man says.

Once upon a Time when the Dallas Cowboys were labeled America's team there was nothing but positivity.

And one of the biggest reasons everybody was positive because the front office of the Dallas Cowboys was committed to winning and they did things that made sense and everything was geared towards winning.

Our leaders were military trained men Tom Landry Roger staubach Ernie stautner.
Real men that bred confidence in every fan and that confidence transcended to a positive attitude.

That era was not without heartbreak and failures but it was never because of anyone's lack of desire to win or do everything in their power to win.

Now under Jerry Jones some years we make an effort to try and win other years we basically put things on hold and make very little effort.

I'm very positive when I see effort being made like was made this year to improve the defense.
But this year is the exception rather than the rule so you can't blame people for being negative when the front office flat out doesn't do everything to win on a consistent basis.
