Being positive vs negative all the time

Being positive isn’t about pretending the Cowboys have been successful — it’s about protecting your sanity, your enjoyment, and your identity as a fan. Negativity feels “realistic,” but long‑term it drains you, narrows your perspective, and makes the whole experience miserable.

Being negative about the Cowboys doesn’t change the record, the roster, or Jerry’s decisions.
It just changes you — your mood, your enjoyment, your energy.

Positivity is the only mindset that gives you a return on investment:

• You enjoy the wins more
• You survive the losses easier
• You stay connected to the team without burning out

The always negative type think:
“If I expect failure, I can’t be disappointed.”

But here’s the truth:
They’re still disappointed — they just ruin the season in advance and they become bitter.

Positive fans get:

• Hope during the season
• Excitement during wins
• A buffer during losses

Negativity is just pre‑pain.

So that’s why I always preach, stay positive and go Cowboys.
Sorry to go back so far but after rereading the beginning of this is Rockport really the last word in telling us how to protect our sanity enjoyment and identity.

At times he kind of reminds me of the guy who beats himself in the head with a hammer cuz it feels so good when he stops.

In the post I responded to Rockport was promoting positivity as the better path
Being positive is a good trait, however, he confuses criticism with being negative. If I say I don't like to eat liver, am I being negative? So, there are thing I do not like about how Jerra runs the team, so therefore, I must be a negative person? lol, get out of here with that nonsense! Oh, and Lord don't ever mention Dak!

I find it mind boggling that Jerry has so much money and power that it means more to him to have members of his family that have little or no real football knowledge running different parts of the team.
Jerry is smart enough and knows full well that he is not giving his team the best chance to win by implementing this practice.

I think what Jack Nicholson said in that movie is Good as it gets describes Jerry just remove reason and accountability.

I don't feel this is negative it's just accepting the way things are

I agree criticism isn't necessarily negativity. I generally lean toward being positive, but I certainly criticize when I feel there is a legitimate complaint. But I feel he was talking about people who all they do is criticize, and if that's the case then it certainly becomes negativity. There has to be some willingness to see both good and bad, and only seeing one or the other is neither realistic or reasonable.

Well, what confuses me is, he claims that he works 80 hours a week! How the hell is that possible when all he does is come here to argue with everyone? lmao
I’ve worked 80 hours s few times during my civilian career but never every week you horrible liar.

Nice post, however, if he feels that there are posters the are negative all the time, use the damn ignore feature on them, problem solved. But, come on, you know that is not what he is after, he is here to argue, that is his positive, in his mind and he brags about it. If he does not like me, ignore the hell out of me, case closed.

Rockport, come on now, just a few weeks ago you said you worked 80 hours a day. If you want to lie about that, that is up to you. I don't forget, bro. Dance KoKo.

Just to state again for the 174th time, when I talk about negative people I’m talking about people who ALWAYS complain about almost everyone and everything . It’s ok to criticize. There’s a lot of things to criticize but doing it all the time is an illness.

Rocky, You literally started this thread as backdoor way to complain about those you view as complainers. The same complainers you complain about ALL the time. You get bitterer and bitterer by the day it seems.

You remind me of a neighbor I have. He hates German Shepherds and is very afraid of them. The result of this is every time he encounters one of mine he immediately and very clearly projects that fear and hatred straight into the dogs' eyes. My very good natured and easy-going dogs see this and interpret his behavior as threatening, which it is. They react with the defensive posturing/warning behavior which only amps him up even more.

He 100% creates the very situation he complains vehemently about and is the only one that in over 20 years and multiple dogs has had a problem with every one of them.

The funny yet sad thing about all this is, all he has to do is be smarter than the dog, All the problems and bitterness would disappear. He'd gain a couple of friends and protectors.

You might try being smarter than the dog. It would be good for everybody.
I just stated facts. They pertain to you so of course you don’t have the intestinal fortitude to admit it. So you and the others attack me non stop.

Then put them on ignore! Damn, how hard is that? Then you won't have to come here and argue about that, just find the posters that make you happy. Are you that damn dumb that you don't realize that? smdh

narcissist noun (link)
nar·cis·sist ˈnär-sə-sist
a : an extremely self-centered person who has an exaggerated sense of self-importance

Jerry Jones is a simple person to understand. He runs football operations because he thinks that highly of himself. He positioned his family within the same organizational structure as an extension of his personal concept of authority and final decision-making.

No issue with what you’re saying aside from this part. The post is dressed up to appear that it’s a small portion of people who are being referred to by the OP, but this thread alone shows that he attacks very rational people.

Don’t be fooled, this dude is the biggest troll on the forum, and only here to start fights, then uses his “positive” attitude to hide behind and justify his actions.

i have found as i get older (44 now), the less i get mad if they lose, and the more i enjoy when the win.

It is becoming easier to let it go vs when i was in my 20s / 30s....that being the case i feel the highs are still high, but the lows have a higher floor.

All that being said, i think there is also a 3rd element which is apathy - i just dont care once they reach a certain point of poor performance.
I'm 45, and I agree with everything you just said.
