Belichick on Tyron Smith

Impossible. I've heard it from great authorities on this forum that our scouting department once again blew it and should have taken JJ Watt.

Must be the same scouts that said Shawne Merriman was better than Demarcus Ware after the season started.

The guy was injured early on and didn't have an off-season or really a training camp either. If he would have, I bet he would have been the starter for his entire rookie season.

When he was on the field his rookie year he made more plays than James or Brooking. Don't recall the Colts game and how he was the bane of Peyton Manning's existance?

would of could of should of DON'T CUT IT

FACT is Lee as a rookie did nothing compared to Smith

Tyron Smith represents the living embodiment of what the star should mean, and the Cowboys are really fortunate to get a player like him at number 9. I love this guy. I love him as a football player, and I love his character and work ethic. This guy is a blue-collar person, and I can certainly relate to that. Smith is a very gifted and rare player and person.

Tyron Smith is clearly a great OT in development. He has the tools to be an all-time great. All that said, the past draft class looks unbelievably good. I am not sure we could have gone wrong.

Had we traded down but still got Watt or Solder no one (sane) would be complaining. If we traded up and got PP no one (sane) would be complaining. Pretty much every player we were linked to heading into the draft ended up playing well except Prince at cb and he was never under serious consideration apparently.

We made out quite well.

You could add Aldon Smith to that group...I think he and PP were the two players we had rated higher than Smith. It was a really strong year at the top of the draft and we could have gone many directions and had a hit. I'm glad we did what we did.

Add Andy Dalton in the second, and it sure looks like we had our sights set on quality players. Hope they prove to be right about Carter.
