Actually he's got five......if you count the 86 and 90 giants teams he was a defensive coordinator for.

lol

seems to me lovie forgot the most important thing in football tonight. Stop the run and go from there.

Playing that tampa 2 you had better be incredible up front with both safeties that deep.

Belichick could have offered advice.

But he probably wouldnt listen after hearing that lovie and dungy dont curse and dont yell. What a farse that is. If I never hear about either one of these guys not yelling again it will be soon. bellichick might offend their christian values by saying a curse word like hell or something...

Personally, I like both of Dungy's and Smith's demeanor.

It just goes to show all types of personalities can win.

As for Dungy as the winning coach, I don't think it could have happened to a more decent man - esp. considering the hardship he went through last year with his son.

yeah sort of...This was very much statistically like superbowl 25. The giants just kept running. That was it.

Of course that game had two championship caliber teams, qbs and defenses. oh and no turnovers and I think only one penalty....

and coaches who occasionally swore and showed emotion...They didnt even get struck down by the devil for it, like you would believe after listening to this broadcast tonight about dungy and smith..

yea it takes all kinds. And if your like me and you dont like that style it is going to suck when the nfl as it always does hires more guys that act like church pastors.

Me, I will take the traditional in your face tough old school coaches.
Lombardi, halas, stram, cowher, parcells, jimmy johnson etc.....

Ironically I loved landry as a kid from what i got to see of him and he is very much like dungy, smart and calm.

still I will take the aggressive always angry coach. I will pass on the pastors and the guys who dont even swear!! what a stupid commentary from nantz.

Well, unfortunately, our team probably needs a coach more like J Johnson to kick them every once in awhile.

We could really use a couple of leaders on the team, esp. on defense.

Maybe that's your opinion. I rather like the fact that both coaches have class and morals. There still is a place for that in today's society...I guess to not to your liking though. Glad to see a good guy like Dungy get one.

So I dont have morals and the coaches who swear and get on their players butts dont have morals?

Whatever dude.

Amazing..

Fine line between aggression and passion and the lack of class. Many players coaches are loud, aggressive and swear and they are as moral as they come.

Ridiculous to say that.

Mike Holmgren and Troy Aikman are two guys that come to mind that are loud, aggressive and scream there tails off and get on other players......

care to question their morality?

It is always amazing to me that some people think unless you are a thug you can't play football and if you don't curse then you are insincere. I have heard it for many years "Nice guys finish last." "I don't care about a man's character. I would rather have a winner than a Sunday School party., etc. etc." The message is clear. There aren't any nice people who can win. Christians are panty waists and milquetoast people.

Well those who peddle such rubbish will have to come up with something else to use as a platform for thuggery. In this SB there were two head coaches that epitomize the very best in sportsmanship and high character and one of them won the SB and the other came in second. You can be a nice, upstanding, high character guy and still be a winner on the field.

Take your cursing, low brows and I'll take the upstanding guys like Dungy and Smith every time. People who are Christians and who treat their neighbors fair and who care about the community and young people are not losers. Even when they lose on the field they are still winners in life. The real losers are those who, when they lose on the field, have nothing left to fall back on because they also lose in life.

You left out the part about aggressively shoving camera men outta the way to give a half hearted congratulatory hug to the opponents head coach when beating said coach and giving said head coach an air guitar hand shake when getting beat by said head coach. Oh yeah and gettin' in trouble for porkin' a married chick.Oh yeah and causin some guy a lifetime of head trauma for makin' him practice after suffering about 30 other cases of head trauma.Oh yeah and then there's that whole Tom Brady thing.Bellichec Rocks! Oh wait a minute you weren't talkin about him, huh?I need to get a room at the Holiday Inn Express or somethin' or get that whole head trauma thing looked at.SORRY disregard this post or somethin'.:D

Well spoken Rockytop. This Super Bowl was great for the NFL because of the coaches. Lots of good lessons to learn from how both of them handle themselves in life, because life comes with both good and bad for each of us. The folks who can't see that are missing something important.
