Well what other condescending pearls of wisdom with Bellichick float to the media. "For a fat boy, Parcells doesn't sweat much".

When I played football, there was a sign that hung in the main doorway that we walked through coming back in from practice each day.

PROFANITY = LACK OF VOCABULARY

I have always remembered that.

Guys like Landry, Dungy, Lovie, etc. are leaders of men in every sense of the word, and are great examples for young men to look up to. And trust me, the young men are watching.

It is always amazing to me that some people think unless you are a thug you can't play football and if you don't curse then you are insincere. I have heard it for many years "Nice guys finish last." "I don't care about a man's character. I would rather have a winner than a Sunday School party., etc. etc." The message is clear. There aren't any nice people who can win. Christians are panty waists and milquetoast people.

Well those who peddle such rubbish will have to come up with something else to use as a platform for thuggery. In this SB there were two head coaches that epitomize the very best in sportsmanship and high character and one of them won the SB and the other came in second. You can be a nice, upstanding, high character guy and still be a winner on the field.

Take your cursing, low brows and I'll take the upstanding guys like Dungy and Smith every time. People who are Christians and who treat their neighbors fair and who care about the community and young people are not losers. Even when they lose on the field they are still winners in life. The real losers are those who, when they lose on the field, have nothing left to fall back on because they also lose in life.

:bow:

Well stated. I am not a religious or spiritual person, but I do believe that you make some excellent points. I think we're going to see more coaches like Lovie and Dungy as time goes on.
