I know there is much perceived uncertainty... but... we now have a QB that:

  1. is smart and will make better decision
  2. will use all of our weapons without prejudice
  3. can escape defenders
  4. can extend the play
  5. can read the defense quickly
  6. can put up atleast the same poor numbers as Drew and probably better
  7. Bill has more faith in
  8. Bill can control in a positive way
  9. can run it in if he has to
  10. truly give us the best chance to win

I have little idea of what to expect from Romo. We haven't seen him enough. I am happy only in that I don't have to watch Bledsoe anymore. Romo may actually be worse. I hope not, but we'll see.

Wow. And you were able to tell that from the 3 quarters he's played?

You must be a scout.

Oh wait, you arent.

Let me fix that list for you.

  3. can escape defenders?

You've all already anointed Romo as Football Jesus. While I'm sure the Gridiron Savior appreciates your faithful worship, lets look at some facts. Since you seem to be fond of lists here's one of my own.

  1. was an UFA
  2. was buried on the bench behind some of the worst starting QBs in the NFL
  3. was such a prospect that no one outside of Dallas fans knew who he was
  4. is untested

Now, seeing as how all of my list is FACT, how in the world can you look at those FACTS and then draw the conclusions you have in your list? Simple: you can't. Nothing more than wishful thinking from a fan that is so desperate for another Franchise QB.

Said like a true Cowboy fan. I think the rest of the NFL may disagree. Then again, it's not like Bledsoe was lighting the NFL on fire. A change was needed at QB ... unfortunatley, it was 4 years too late.

Not Sean Payton, he tried to get him for a 3rd round pick. Not bad considering he was undrafted

I think the fact that Romo can see the whole field is going to be big. Playing football we have had 2 quarterbacks like a Bledsoe and a Romo type. With th eBledsoe type, if the play was called to one side of the field, then that was where it was going, regardless of if you had beaten your man in coverage on the other side.

With the Romo type, you always ran your routes and always knew to expect the ball coming because if you were open he would be throwing the ball your way.

To me this is the biggest plus.

With the Bledsoe type QB we were 1-3 after the switch? 12-3. :) Conference Champions.

(Mind you this is work league football, but since I work for the US Army, there are a lot of athletes)

The HOF list just came out. Why is Romo not being considered? They should just waive the 5 year off-period for him.

I am not saying we go undefeated the rest of the way. :) I'm saying the ability of a QB to see the whole field is huge.

The ability to see through the field is even "huger". Romo has that power. With everything else the OP suggests he is capable of (basically everything the most successful QBs ever possess) HOF is a lock, I'd say.

I for one have no idea if Romo is the answer or not. What do you propose? I do know what Bledsoe is and that is not good enough.

Despite all this, his last interception really, really bothered me. The rest I chalk up to nerves and inexperience, but that last one was a terrible pass thrown late and right to a defender at the worst possible time.

the one thing I know is that when Romo came in, the TEs started catching passes.

One of the things I'm a bit curious to see is how Dallas will run out of the 4 WR and empty back formations. With Bledsoe, it seems like they are relegated to only hitting short pass patterns in fear of him getting sacked. With Romo, *perhaps* we'll get to see a full array of patterns to be hit, thus making those formations much more effective.

I wouldnt necessarily say buried... BP said a few years back that there was only one QB on the roster... was he refering to Romo?
